From my research, it became evident that all four races—humans, demons, elves, and dwarves—shared a common ancestor. This ancestor, through a process known as adaptive radiation, had evolved into the distinct races we knew today. Adaptive radiation is a biological phenomenon where a single species diversifies into multiple new species, each adapted to a unique environment. This process is often driven by the scarcity of resources, which forces the species to explore and adapt to new habitats.
The elves, for instance, evolved from those ancestors who remained in dense forests. These forests, rich in biodiversity and abundant in natural resources, provided the perfect environment for the development of the elves' unique abilities and deep connection to nature. Over countless generations, they adapted to their surroundings, developing traits and skills that allowed them to thrive in harmony with their environment.
