Included in one of the things that he bought for me was a first aid kit. We bought it when we went to the weapons shop, and we found that the owner also sold first aid kits which were probably for adventurers.
Well, since we are technically adventurers now (not the job, but just simply adventuring to places), we are definitely going to need these first aid kits.
Can't believe we are going to use the first one not on a mission. It was partially my fault for going all out on the punches, but it was also his fault for not opening up. In the end, it was all worth it.
I began giving him the help he needed, even though he very much said that he doesn't need it. I insisted, since he is now sort of like my right hand man, he will need it to heal even faster.
I placed the bandages and all the healing stuff on his wounds. Those wounds will heal eventually, but not right away. They might heal faster than a normal person since Rake is a mage, but it will still take time until they completely close. And even if they do close, they might leave a scar.
Noticing that he got a large wound in his forehead, I immediately felt guilty for throwing that piece of the stairs' railings. It made… quite the long cut.
Let's just hope it won't leave that big of a scar once it heals…
"H-Hey… why are you also covering my eyes?"
Rake complained, because of the way I put the bandage on him, it's like I'm purposefully covering his eyes alongside his forehead.
Well, his eyes are scary when they're red. I don't want to see those eyes again, so I went ahead and covered it.
"The cut from that log I threw goes all the way until the center of your eyes. It's better for me to just cover both your eyes with the bandage."
"But…"
"That's fine, isn't it? Those eyes of yours are pretty special, right?"
I said to make him stop complaining, and he agreed immediately. It's not like he can't see anything from behind that bandage. He got special eyes, very special that he can still see through cloth like that.
H-Hey, doesn't that mean he can see things through clothes…?
"I can sense things with my magic sense, and these eyes don't have special vision. But maybe… this cover could prove useful."
For some reason, he agreed anyway.
I pushed his hair upwards while placing the bandages that are now covering his forehead and eyes, leaving only his nose and mouth still in his face. His ears were not covered, but the bandage did stop right before it covered his ears.
Hmm, his looks now are not bad actually. If it wasn't for the blood, this can easily be his new look.
"I like this look. You should keep it on permanently."
"… I can't see."
"Yes, you can. Don't lie."
"…"
Noticing his silence, that means he has given up. I stood up and began moving to tend the other wounds.
God damn, his forehead was the least damage… everywhere in his body is just filled with wounds and bruises. How hard did I lash out at him…?
Again, it was all worth it. It was just rather interesting seeing these wounds on him knowing how strong he was.
Rake is very weak right now, not sure why but he is purposely letting himself be mortal in front of me. And I also can't really tell if he can fight in this condition or not.
I mean, who knows when the enemy will attack--
"There's incoming."
Rake suddenly said coldly, and he immediately stood up.
Woah, there... You were failing on moving your limbs. How the hell is he standing up right now?
His eyes are facing to the front of the house, possibly where the incoming is coming from. I noticed that his condition is already quite bad, which means he shouldn't be moving too much.
"Wait. Don't fight them."
I said to Rake, and he turned his confused gaze to me.
"If you fight them, that simply means you are being honest in telling them that you are here. You must not use your magic or powers to fight them."
"Then…? What are we supposed to do?"
"Easy. This place is a haunted house, right?"
.
The plan is simple.
We bought many things at that weapons shop. Weapons, first aid kits, and finally adventurer tools and kits.
There are many things that adventurers use in their daily life, such as ropes, gas bombs, and hiking tools.
We will be utilizing all three of them.
The first thing we did was turn off all the things in the house. It didn't take long, since Rake can just snap his fingers to turn all those crystal lights off.
And now that it is pitch black, we can easily move on with the second step.
Outside the house, the people coming are already getting quite close. I peeked through the broken window on the second floor, and I can easily tell who these people are.
The yellow haired bastard. The guy who chased us during the day, and the same guy who stole Luca's apples.
Looks like vengeance will be delivered early tonight. It's going to be sweet.
"They are getting close."
A voice came from my pocket, and I took the item out. It was a communication device in the shape of a box, and Rake is on the other side of the call.
I placed the tool in front of my mouth and spoke while whispering.
"Seven people, all knights and armed. Are you ready down there?"
"Let's wait until they get closer."
"All right. I will say when."
I lowered the tool and peek again, and I noticed that they are beginning to get closer.
The knights don't seem to look afraid of what is happening, but they are still approaching cautiously. They had their weapons out, and ready to attack anything in sight.
Once the first batch of knights arrived by the gate, I lifted the tool again.
"They're at the gate. Do it."
I said coldly, but Rake didn't reply. I waited until something happened, and five seconds later, things became loud.
BAAARRR!!!!
""Hiii!!!!""
The knights who were checking the sides of the house suddenly became startled by something. They all turned their lights towards the source of the sound, and found that it was a brick that fell from the ceilings.
A brick? Where did that come from?
PRAANGG!!!!!
That sound came from the inside of the house.
Rake must've slammed a plate down and broken it, causing a really loud sound of glass shattering. It successfully made the knights even more frightened.
"Stay sharp!! It's definitely them! Keep your weapons charged!!"
Oh, the yellow haired guy is definitely smart.
It's like he knew that it was definitely not the acts of a ghost. He shouted it out loud, and as a result, his men became much braver than before.
But, it all fell apart the moment the door was opened.
CREAK!!
The front door was opened from the inside, and a tall shadow began walking out.
Its entire appearance was covered in bandages, and blood can also be seen all over. The red eyes looked incredibly scary, and finally the sword in his hand.
It was actually my sword since we can't use his sword for obvious reasons. And thanks to him having a sword, the knights outside are sure that this place is not haunted.
It's simply housing a sociopath named Rake Ignicius.
"Ohhh??? It's seven this time… how tasty."
Rake said while purposely making his voice heavy. His appearance is covered in bandages and blood all over, so it is very easy to say that he looked like a genuine sociopath.
He is. Don't get me wrong. He is actually a sociopath.
And right now, that trait of him is working naturally and flawlessly, making the knights get scared even more.
"C-Calm down!! It's just one guy! He is definitely not a monste--"
ZRINGG!!!
It was sudden, but it was accurate. Rake threw the blade and it spun, and it managed to graze the yellow haired knight's pretty face.
"Oh? I missed."
After that, Rake did the unthinkable. He took out a knife from his pocket and began licking it, acting as scary as he possibly can.
"Whatever, that knight's sword was stupid anyway. I liked my knife better… Now come, surrender yourself tastefully, please."
Rake spoke once again with a heavy voice, and this time the knights are not taking any more chances.
They turned their tails and ran. What a plan this was...
