Chương 43: 42 . Mistrusting Renny and acquiring a Title
POV : Renny
Renny observed as Von approached him after Mikael left , probably thinking of a way to acquire the title . He saw the struggle in Von's face and he sighed already knowing that his friend did not like what they had done to the newbie . But he had his reasons . Reasons . He needed to be sure !! And he had gotten an answer . one that luckily had proven him wrong . Luckily for Loan that is , if he had unfortunately failed his test well . . .
" Was that necessary Ren ? What's the point of you putting so much vigilance on a newbie . Is their something your not telling me ! " Renny could understand Von's displeasure but he had not told him exactly for this reason . He'd rather not have had Von blurting out something that would have messed things up . If loan was part of that group , everything would have come crushing down on them .
" I thought he was part of the Black Hand Faction ! " His words were somber and instantly shut up Von who wanted to complain further .
Von also quickly choked on what he was about to say, as his felt a sudden void in his stomach . He finally realized the importance of what Renny had done and he could not hold back his heart from pounding violently in his chest . Was it true , had they almost died ! Von quickly looked at Renny , urging him to continue with his explanation so that the growing worry in him would go away. A growing Fear that refused to disappear as long as he did not know everything
" I first had my suspicions when he said he doesn't know how side missions worked . It was unnatural for a newbie to not know such common knowledge and even more weird for a newbie to go on a solo first mission . But the high worth value could explain that . But , I still felt there was something weird about him . To may inconsistencies " Renny could remember a condition he had placed before summoning both Loan and Zen . Both of them had to have gone to at least one of their beginner world . So Loan's question at the time did not make sense
Von nodded alongside Renny . Yes , it did not make sense for a member of the black hand faction to so easily attract attention to themselves by asking such a stupid question about side missions , it would in fact attract more attention towards them .
Their methods had in fact become common knowledge due to their sheer infamy .They would join beginner missions and cause chaos by outright killing all the contestants or killing off of a major plot character for a random world . And this could only men failure for the surviving contestants
" Next , I was confused by his high charm with how he so easily attracted others attention and how he managed negotiating a side mission . It was weird for a member from them to make such simple mistakes and it was even more stranger for a member from their group to choose such a face that stood out . But I could not so easily lower my guard . Maybe he was trying to throw me off . Confusing me by making such easy mistakes . "
Von once again nodded . Yes it made sense . He would not put it past that disgusting group of assassins' to do such a thing . They were despised by every contestant in the tower for their extremely shameless ways . But one thing they clearly failed at having was charm , something most of them had very low values in . Yes there was the occasional exception but it was still very rare
" But , I had to be sure . I was still 50/50 whether he was from that group but I finally got my answer with the little test I did tonight . "
Von looked at Renny's eagerness and nodded seeing he was following his narrative closely .
" We both know the most important things to the people from the black hand faction . Killing a target , Achievement points , and their pitiful ego concerning their worth . "
Renny agreed . Members from the black hand faction more frequently had pathetically low worth and this was the main reason they joined the faction in the first place . If Loan was from the black hand faction , he would not have even said his worth value more so not such a high worth value . It would not make sense . Anyone saying such a high worth value was either an idiot or they were confident in what they were talking about and so far , Loan had shown he was not an idiot .
And for a black hand member to give up achievement points ? That was impossible !! And that was why Von had been sure Loan was not from that faction .
Why was that ? From the pitiful information that was easily acquired on the market , Newbie member in the Black Hand Faction would have to donate most if not all their achievement points when they joined the faction . The reason for such an act had still not been discovered . So for a member to use their points on things that were not highly required was impossible . Things such as information about a title .
" Loan might not be from that faction but , what he is is a contestant we must acquire for our metal skull faction . If not . . . " Renny's vibe was dangerous and malevolent . He spoke with such seriousness that he felt like a different person . It would be foolish of him to let go of such a valuable contestant , he could even get achievement points for recruiting such a person . And if they could not have him , hehe
" Hahaha . I understand boss ! " Von nodded his worry settled . His heart was at rest now .
" WOOOOAHHHHH "
The noise from the gathered crowd had attracted the two's attention . Their enhanced senses had allowed them to easily pick up what the old man had said earlier but they were curious to know what had attracted the awe of the crowd .
" Renny , Let's move to see what great thing out 'future companion' is doing . HAHAH !"
Renny was also curious how Loan would manage to accomplish the mission to acquire the title and he moved away from the table nodding at Zen who remained sited . Another newbie that would be joining their metal skull faction . Another very valuable one by what he found was his main development route . A summoner !
He followed Von as he easily passed through the crowd hearing the growing excitement the nearer he got to the center and on arrival , even Renny was shocked by what he was seeing .
" CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG !!!"
The crowd was going crazy at what Loan was doing , Their excitement was electric at a never before seen dominace at winning a drinking competition .
The last two contestants , the only two that remained conciouse after the long drinking competition , both now held barrels over their heads drinking directly from it in an unending stream !!
Renny had seen how the bigger man had passed out halfway through , choking on the harsh ale as he fell heavily on the ground .
Loan , obviously the winner of the event was still chugging the barrel down in a continouse stream without rest .
His face was flushed and you could notice the sway in his body as he balanced the barrel over his head in an impressive struggle to accomplish the mission and finish the barrel .
Renny had approached where Von had joined the shouting crowd in support of the impressive sight .
Now Renny was completely sure Loan was not a member of the black hand faction !! If he were , he would not have been bothering with the present spectacle after the first drink touched his lips . A low worth value would have immediately exposed him
" ANOTHERRR ONE !!! "

POV : MIKAEL
[[ CHECKING FOR CONTESTANTS WORTH STAT TO CONFIRM HIS ELIGIBILITY TO ACQUIRE TITLE .
CHECKING COMPLETE . CONTESTANT MONARCH HAS ALL QUALIFICATIONS AND HAS MET MINIMUM WORTH STAT .
BE WARNED , THIS WILL BE ONLY CHANCE THE CONTESTANT CAN ACQUIRE THE TITLE DRUNKARD UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES

This were the first words that met Mikael after he took his first drink and a answer was completely filled in his mind .
He had sensed that Renny had hidden something from him during the explanation but he failed to know what . It seemed this had been it . But for what reason had Renny hidden such a thing ?
Was it a way in confirming his worth stat or was there another hidden agenda Mikael was un aware of . That was most likely it .
For now , he would concentrate on acquirieing a free title !
Mikael's guess had been correct on the three individuals that had initially caught his attention .
The first was the pig fucker man . He had lasted upto halfway through the fifth round before he started chocking and eventually vomited .
The second to go was the lady with the viciouse mouth . She had lasted upto the sixth round but had instantly passed out after finishing it .
The rest of the participants were less impressive having last upto the third or forth round before they also gave out .
The true challenge had been the large man with a missing eye . He had proven strong , resilient . Lasting up to the last mug and a winner was still not decided .
When Mikael had realised the ten mug challenge was accomplished but his title was still not acquired , he added another pound to the prize pool and challenge the man to a drink out direct from the barrel and that was how Mikael had finally acquired his title .
After the man had passed out and fallen over , it was the sound of heaven as he heard the systems familiar bell sound
