Seeing her child, who seemed to be able to see her and who was curious and looking at the room like every newborn, Lana, Simon's mother, smiled even more radiantly and seemed happy from the depths of her soul, being so excited that her child was finally beginning to see. She decided to show Simon around the house, even though she thought he couldn't understand anything. Lana gently cradled Simon in her arms, her radiant smile lighting up her face as she began to show him around the house.
"Welcome to our home, Simon," she murmured softly, her eyes shining with excitement and love. "This is where we live, you and I." She walked through the room, Simon captivated by the soft glow emanating from every corner.
"Look, Simon," she said gently, pointing to the delicate floral motifs adorning the walls. "These patterns were lovingly carved by the most talented elves in our kingdom. Each flower, each leaf tells a story."
She then walked to the hand-woven rug, gently caressing the fibers with her fingertips.
"This rug was woven by my grandmother, a renowned artisan throughout the kingdom," she explained with pride. "Each thread tells a story of our past, of our family."
Finally, she stopped in front of a large window overlooking the surrounding forest, her eyes shining with admiration.
"And this is the most beautiful view of all," she declared, her eyes filling with stars. "The ancient forest surrounding our home, with its majestic trees and hidden secrets. This is our home, Simon. Our refuge in this dangerous world." She left with a bit of sadness remembering that she still had no news of her husband.
Although Simon couldn't understand the language of the elves, he thought he understood why his mother looked a little depressed, as he had never heard a man's voice since his birth, so his father had never come to see him.
He couldn't help but think if his father was some kind of playboy or something. Simon still hadn't understood the gravity of the situation he was in after all.
So, time passed very quickly. Simon is now a 6-year-old elf. During this time, he figured out more or less how the elven society works. Elven society is matrilineal, ruled by a Queen and a council of elders headed by a Doyen.
Elves worship nature and coexist peacefully with it, using magic that draws its strength from their connection to the natural world. Elven craftsmanship is incomparable, especially their work with glass and light, creating art objects that seem alive.
Their music, played on instruments made from natural elements, has the power to soothe souls and make vegetation grow. Elven magic is primarily based on healing, growth, and protection. They have a natural affinity with animals and plants, able to communicate with them. Elves believe in reincarnation, their life being a perpetual cycle of rebirth linked to nature.
Their mission is to protect the ancient forests against forces seeking to disrupt the natural balance. Thus, two kingdoms exist in the Niger continent, the kingdom of the elves as described, and the kingdom of humans.
