Chương 5: 5) IT'S YOU

When Mia was pouring some hot milk into the cup she heard two employees talking to each other . She was not interested in others talking but since their table was near the desk she can't help herself.

"Have you noticed how cold our boss can be when someone messes up?"

"Oh, absolutely. He's like ice when it comes to dealing with mistakes."

"Remember that time when Sarah forgot to send out the client report? He gave her such a harsh punishment."

"Yeah, I heard she had to work overtime for weeks to make up for it."

"It's crazy. And the thing is, he's so handsome, you almost forget about how cold he can be."

"True, his looks can be distracting, but his management style leaves much to be desired."

Mia was somewhat shocked. And due to this shocking reality the hot milk spills over and she accidently burned her right hand . She cursed herself for not being alert and how she going to work with this burn hand .

Further she heard ...

"Did you hear about what happened to Lara?"

"No, what happened?"

"She accidentally burned her hand while cooking and couldn't submit her work on time."

"Oh no, poor Lara. Is she okay?"

"Physically, yes, but the CEO was furious. He made her redo the entire project five times, and get this, with her burnt hand! And he slashed her salary by 60% for the month."

"That's incredibly harsh! How can he expect her to work under those conditions?"

"I know, it's unbelievable. It's like he has no empathy at all."

Upon hearing all these she froze and was cursing more and more . Somehow she managed to have some coffee.

"O God where I have stuck!!!!!!! "

She then press the elevator and waited fot it . some time later the elevator emerged and she board in it.

Mia stood in the elevator, lost in her own thoughts, until the doors slid open with a soft ding. In walked Alexander, the same man she had clashed with just the day before at the art gallery.

Mia's heart skipped a beat, and she tensed, unsure of what to expect.

Alexander's expression mirrored her surprise as their eyes met. "You're the same girl I met at the art gallery, aren't you?" he remarked, breaking the silence.

Mia's jaw tightened, but she replied defiantly, "So what if I am?"

Alexander's eyebrows furrowed, his tone taking on a serious edge. "There are many dangerous people out there. Flirting with strangers isn't the smartest move," he cautioned.

Anger flared up inside Mia. "It's none of your business what I do," she retorted, her voice sharp with irritation.

Alexander noticed the burn in her hand and said "you have got a burn come with me to the medical hall they will ...."

"I said to have your own buisness mister " Mia interrupted.

Upon seeing this attitude Alexander suspected that something is not right . He choose to have silence.

The tension crackled between them as the elevator continued its ascent. Mia could feel Alexander's eyes on her, but she refused to meet his gaze, staring straight ahead.

Finally, the elevator chimed, signaling their arrival at the 17th floor. Without another word, Mia brushed past Alexander and stepped out into the hallway, leaving him behind in the confines of the elevator.

As the doors closed behind her, Mia couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered in the air. She knew that her encounter with Alexander was far from over.

Then Alexander called his assistant and asked Ms. Alicia to visit him to his office .

So Mia just get out of the elevator and was running through the hallway till she reach her department.

"Hey dude did you saw a ghost in daylight? Or something?" Sofia , her teammate was concerned about her.

"Something like that" Mia whispered.

"What??" Sofia was a bit confused.

"No no nothing " Mia said.

Mia felt how stupid she was at her first day running here and there like a clone .

Whatever...

"But by the way why this man was here... omg is he a employee here ...seeing his suit and his luxury watches maybe he is a department director ... is we are in the same department.. oh shit !!!! This can't happen .... I will be sued .... what to do what to do ....." Mia panicked.

Calm down Mia, calm down...

There must be a way ..

Mia was busy thinking someways to face that man .But Mia was unaware of what he was going to do .

Later that evening...

The office bells rings

Alexander gave his permission

His assistant enters with an apology and said " Boss Ms. Alicia is not able to visit you as she is stuck in some buisness. She said she will visit when she wants." After saying this he left .

Alexander gave a long sigh

"This girl "

"Never listens to me"

I know she will come out of nowhere and will then hang around my neck . What should I do God!!!!! . Alexander told in his mind .

It seems Alexander was a bit exhausted .

He took his medication and instantly fells sleepy .

After 1 hour ...

In Alexander's nightmare, the scene unfolds with vivid clarity. He finds himself standing on a deserted road, illuminated only by the faint glow of distant streetlights. The air is heavy with tension, and a sense of foreboding hangs thickly in the atmosphere. Suddenly, the silence is shattered by the deafening sound of screeching tires and the sickening crunch of metal as a truck careens out of control, hurtling towards a group of people gathered nearby.

In slow motion, Alexander watches in horror as the truck slams into the group, sending bodies flying and metal twisting. The scene is surreal, like something out of a nightmare, as he sees familiar faces among the victims, including Mia's family and himself. Time seems to stand still as Alexander's eyes dart frantically, searching for any sign of life amidst the wreckage.

With trembling hands, he reaches for his phone, his fingers fumbling against the smooth surface as he struggles to dial for help. Each second feels like an eternity as he waits for a response, his heart pounding in his chest.

Suddenly, a sharp blow to the back of his head sends him reeling forward, stars dancing in his vision as he fights to stay conscious. Through the haze, he manages to catch a glimpse of Mia stirring nearby, her eyes fluttering open as she struggles to make sense of the chaos around her.

"Mia" Alexander shouted in pain .

Despite the fear and confusion engulfing him, Alexander's heart swells with relief at the sight of Mia awakening, a flicker of hope amidst the darkness of his nightmare. But even as he reaches out to her, a sense of dread lingers, leaving him haunted by the vivid imagery of the accident and the uncertainty of what lies ahead.

"Mia Mia....aunt ....uncle ... someone help ....please stop... please .... " Alexander screamed

" Alex wake up ... wake up ... it's a dream ... Alex... are u hearing me .... I am Alicia.... please respond .... I am here "

Alicia who came out of nowhere just like Alexander had predicted.

Upon hearing nothing when Alicia pressed the bell again and again , she smelled that something is not right and she forcefully opened the door .

On opening the door she saw which she was not prepared to see... her brother was half fallen from the chair and was murmuring something ..

She ran and put his head on her lap and managed to have a bottle of water from his table and sprinkle few drops on his face .

" Mia ... Mia ... stop approaching her ... you .....you .. y..." Alexander was slowly coming to her senses.

" Alex I am here ... no need to afraid .. your sister is here... everything's gonna perfect soon ...just sleep .... you need some rest.. you are working day and night .. see what you have made yourself .. a living zombie.. if past Mia somehow know about your doings how upset she would be .."
