Beiye POV
I'm thirteen as my brother is too which the Demon Hunt Trials are about to begin as I've taken the Trials as I'm on the Demon Hunting Team as Level 7 Temple Knight.
I heard Haochen passed to come here so I can see him as he is captain of team.
Beiye: Gramps, do you think my brother is ready?
Haohan: That is up to him as the path he has walked, he's chosen a very good sword just like you.
Beiye: That's my brother for you.
Haohan: Will you go to introduce yourself on the team.
Beiye: Yep, I should get going.
I walked out to see my brother as me and Gao Yingjie are in charge of the rookies as he stays at the command while I'm on assault with them.
I walked to see Lord Holy Knight as I bowed.
Beiye: Sir!
Lord Holy Knight: Are you going to meet Gao Yingjie to see your team?
Beiye: Yes sir.
Lord Holy Knight: Very well, you may go and good luck with your team.
Beiye: Yes sir!
I bowed to walk as I see Gao leaning on the wall waiting.
Gao: Beiye, we're welcoming the rookies.
Beiye: Let's see what they've got, I won't hold back cause he's my brother.
As we walked to jump off the balcony to land in front of them.
Gao: Hello Rookies
Bei: Hello.
Haochen looked at me surprised as I put my finger to my lips to keep quiet as he nodded.
Gao: Listen up, we're only going to say this once.
Everyone was listening.
Bei: A three month team competition will kick off for all newly built squads.
Gao: You will fight on the battlefield and you must claim military tasks and fight the demons to gain merit.
Bei: In three months the squad with the highest merit will take the first place and be handsomely rewarded.
They perked up at that.
Gao: I am Gao Yingjie.
Bei: I am Long Beiye, your co-leaders on the battlefield.
Gao: Therefore, Our words are military commands that you must obey unconditionally.
All: Unconditional obedience?
Chen Ying Er: Hmph, Even if you ask me to die? So arbitrary.
Me and Gao chuckled at that, I don't want them to follow that command just pull back when we say.
Bei: We know that you're all young geniuses, proud and arrogant.
Gao: That's why the alliance allows you challenge us, your leaders.
Bei: Come on and challenge Gao, Let's see you fight.
Gao flared his energy.
Gao: I am a Level 7 Knight, As long as you defeat me, you can ignore our orders.
They were getting ready until Lin Xin steps up smiling.
Lin Xin: Leader Beiye and Gao, As Level 7 Knights, you have a minimum mana of 20,000 for Leader Gao and Leader Beiye has 25,000, greater than our combined value so how can we defeat you?
Bei: I'm not fighting, just Gao is.
Lin Xin: But still The Alliance must have offered other conditions, Please tell us.
He's smart really.
Gao: You are sharp, aren't you?
Bei: Touch me ten times and you win, For each touch, you will gain 200 merit points.
Sima Xian: You keep saying merit, What the heck is that? Can we trade it for money?
Lin Xin turned to speed to him.
Lin Xin: Merit is much better than money, For a demon hunting squad, advanced weapons and skills can only be bought with merit points, There are two ways to gain merit points, One is to kill demons and the other is to finish the task released by the mission tower but as far as I know killing a Level 5 Demon is 10 points, The higher the level demon thd more points you get now a touch can get us 200 points, Captain how great is that as we can't miss it!
I smiled cause merit points are good for the long haul really as I have a lot of points I never use.
Bei: But, if you fail to touch Gao even once, the squad will disband immediately.
Everyone was surprised.
Gao: Excluding this one I've been team leader twice, during which two squads have been disbanded and Beiye as well.
Bei: And for the record I'm Level 7 I'm not in this.
Gao: If you not strong enough, don't go to the battlefield to get killed.
Everyone: Arrogant.
I smiled as I walk to the side to watch this play out.
