Chương 11: Chapter 11

The trip back to the village was pretty chill. Well, about as chill as making a month-long trip into three days is. I kept in mind our little spy friend following us and she was kind of good. Good enough to be hidden from the others, but not from me. I don't know if I should confront her or something. The information she will give to Gazel is what will cause him to approach us first. Him approaching us first will give us a position of power when talking to him.

I'll leave the spy alone for now. There's nothing that valuable in our village right now. She's here for Rimuru and his potions and for me and the threat I pose. I'll just leave it be. No need to show my full capabilities at this moment.

After all, I shouldn't go too far in displaying my talents or I might accomplish the opposite. inspire fear and insecurity.

At least I think that's how it went or something like that.

Right now we are just relaxing in the village after we all got back. Rimuru immediately put the dwarfs to work. They were teaching some of the goblins the basics of their crafts and they were already making plans for the future foundations of the village. It will take a few weeks to see much of it come to fruition, but progress will be fast thanks to their skills.

As for me, I was scribbling on some tablets of wood at this moment since we didn't have paper yet. There are more important things to do first before we can get to some luxuries such as that. I was making some designs for a special item that I would give to Kaijin so he could make it.

It took me a few hours but I eventually finished it. It came out a lot better than I thought it would since it's wood, but it was good enough to be legible and understood. Now all that's left is to visit Kaijin and explain it to him.

I enter Kaijins tent where I see him talking to to his brothers and some other goblins about the planning of the village. They noticed me, but it was Kaijin who took spoke to me first.

"Lady Pendragon, what brings you here? Is there an issue you want to address about the village?" Kaijin said to me

'Lady Pendragon? That will take getting used to. Being addressed extra formally like that is kind of weird, but it's better to get used to now.'

"Ok, you don't need to do all that, we're in a non-formal setting. I just need to show you something Kaijin. I'll wait for you to finish before I show it to you. I think you'll find it enjoyable. Don't feel pressured, take your time."

"I understand. GIve me a few moments to finish then."

I stood there listening to his planning until he finished. Once he finished, all the others left leaving only me and him.

"What was it that you wanted to show me?"

I took out the wooden tablets and gave them to him.

"I drew these designs and wanted you to try to make them."

Kaijin was examining them before he looked up at me with a questioning look on his face

"Can you explain it to me so that I have an idea for what you're looking for?"

"Sure. This is a modular design. You're just making these individual parts and when they're all made they will come together to form one object. It's supposed to make it easier to make and easy to fix as well as make it better later on without having to discard the entire item and waste much of the resources."

"Yeah, when you put it like that it makes a lot more sense now. What exactly am I making here?"

"It's a weapon."

"A weapon? Seriously? I mean no disrespect, but you already have equipment that many would kill for and that could cause a terrifying amount of damage."

"I know, but this is something more 'ceremonial' or 'decorative' you could say. It's more something to remind me of home as well as play around with."

"When I look at these designs, it doesn't look like a weapon I've seen or at least made before. Looking at how you describe it, it sounds like something I've heard about, but I'm not sure."

"Well, do you think you can make it?"

"I'll do my best. Making something I haven't made before is a good challenge and practice to make my skills even better than they are now."

Kaijin was getting excited, so I decided to leave and let him get to it.

"By the way, if you need the materials, just ask Rimuru to give you some magisteel. You don't need much though. A chunk or two should be more than enough to make them. Of course the wood you don't have to worry about. Don't feel rushed to make them, these should be a side project for you. Not your main focus."

"I understand. I'll work on them when I have free time. I'll make sure to make them to best of my ability."

I left the tent and decided to go to Rimuru for a bit.

/\/\/\/\/\

"Hey Rimuru, can I come in?" I'm outside of Rimuru's tent right now waiting for permission to come in.

"Artoria? Yeah, you can enter." I hear Rimuru and enter the tent. It's nothing much right now since Kaijin and the others are still getting things planned out.

"So RImuru, are you going to name all those goblins that showed up to the village while we were gone?"

"Yeah, I am. Do you want to help me name them?"

"No. I'm not going to help you name them. What kind of ideas do you have for the future? You know we are going to have a larger population in the future right?"

"Yeah, I do. Hunting will only get us so far. I'm thinking of making a farm. Do you some ideas of what we should grow?"

"Oh definitely." I think I sounded a bit too excited at that. "We should grow wheat, barley, rye, corn, sugar cane, rice, and agave. That's what I can think of off the top of my head right now."

"You listed that off really fast. How do we grow that stuff anyway? I haven't seen some of those plants or heard of them. Also, what's an agave?"

"That's simple to solve Rimuru. You are a slime right?"

"Yes? Where are you going with this?"

"Slime have the ability to eat things and absorb and dissolve them, right? You also have a lot more intelligence than a regular slime. Put that together Rimuru and you get your answer. Think a bit here Rimuru."

"Oh, I got it! You're telling me to absorb and analyze a bunch of different plants and use them to make what we need for a farm! Artoria, you're super smart!"

"Uh, no. It was a basic observation and basic knowledge about the abilities of a slime. You're giving me too much credit there. Also, agave is a large succulent that grows to a big size with spiky leaves. The one I'm talking about is much more sweet though. That's about all I know though."

"I'll try to remember that then. I'll go name those goblins then."

"Alright, I'll go back to doing my own thing then. See you later."

I left the tent and there wasn't much to do right now. All that's left right now is to wait for the village to develop further and see where it takes us.

Actually, there is something I can do. I just need time. I'll do it after Rimuru gets up from naming all the goblins.

-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-

Hey everyone. I'm back and officially done with the semester so I'm on break. I don't have a set schedule, but you can expect more chapters to be released.

Also, I have to say, the support this fan-fic has been getting is astounding. I'm gone for a week and BAM, the overall powerstones this fic has gained has more than tripled.

I honestly don't know what to say about this. The only thing I can say is thank you.

By the way, for those who care, have y'all seen the beef between Drake and Kendrick? What are some thoughts on that if y'all have any?

Anyway. I'll be back with another chapter soon. Beli4al out.
