"I am your husband, remember?" Davien watched her carefully as he said this.
Bel tried not to show any reaction. She wasn't stupid; she could tell he was aiming for something. He kept saying things she obviously didn't like, repeating them for effect.
"I doubt this falls under your husbandly duties," she said, folding her arms. She could go on for as long as he wanted. She wasn't about to give in to his demands.
"It definitely does. You're here in Darkcrypt because of me. Making sure you get to places you want to go is my job."
"I'm perfectly fine with Giselle handling this. I don't need your intervention. Giselle seems more than happy to take me there." She glanced at the vampire for confirmation, and Giselle nodded.
The vampire shuffled on her feet, and Bel felt bad for making her witness this, but she was angry that Davien was stressing the issue. He had no reason to, and she could only think the sole purpose of this was to get on her nerves.
