Chương 31: Chapter 31: A New Crew
Weevil's stomach growled, but his face hardened. A fighting genius, a wild brawler at heart, he sensed danger. In a flash, he became a man possessed, his right hand gripping his massive blade like a legendary pirate. The knife met a rushing black figure in a ferocious swing.
"Mom! Look out!"
Weevil roared as Ling Bai, charging in, saw the giant blade slashing down. He slammed his haki-coated fist right into it.
*CLANG! Steel met steel, a shockwave pushing Miss Buckin back.
That's when Shiryu arrived. A master swordsman with a bloody past, his demon blade cleaved Miss Buckin in two. Before she could even scream, her lifeless head tumbled away, blood spewing everywhere. He wasn't done - Shiryu continued to hack at the corpse, nearly chopping it to pieces!
"Mom!"
"Die!"
Weevil went berserk, his rage fueled by his mother's brutal death. But Ling Bai stopped him with a powerful punch, fueled by a strange power he'd just acquired. Imagine Whitebeard stopping a giant ship with his bare hands - that kind of power. And Ling Bai's punch was just as devastating.
Weevil got kicked out after nearly losing his mind.
Momousagi and her crew, who just arrived, saw a giant black shadow approaching. It didn't target them, but smashed into a nearby construction site, turning the building into dust!
"Ling Bai?!"
Momousagi and the Vice Admiral were stunned to see who emerged from the smoke.
Ling Bai gave them a quick look but ignored them. He figured Marines were Marines, and as long as they didn't bother him, he wouldn't cause trouble.
Suddenly, a battered and bloody Weevil charged out again. Driven mad by Miss Buckin's death, he resembled a crazed killer.
"I'll kill you!" he roared, slashing at Ling Bai with a knife.
Ling Bai met the blade with a strange, powerful punch. The ground shattered from the resulting shockwave, sending the knife flying.
He then leaped into the air and swung his leg down at Weevil's head like an axe.
The earth caved in, creating a massive pit with Weevil at its center. Though not unconscious, he was practically done for.
As if that wasn't enough, Ling Bai conjured a giant icicle that fell from the sky and slammed into Weevil like a meteor.
Even Shiryu and the crew were scared after witnessing the fight. They never imagined such terrifying strength could come from Ling Bai's seemingly ordinary body.
And they couldn't understand why Ling Bai attacked that crazy swordsman. Did he have some old grudge against him?
The judge, his sons and daughter, Momousagi and the others were frightened too.
Momousagi was really surprised to see Ling Bai on Hachinosu Island.
Five minutes later, Ling Bai threw Weevil out of the pit and asked Shiryu to hold Miss Buckin's head close to him. Weevil was about to explode, but Ling Bai forced him down again. The pain was so bad that Weevil couldn't move. Even though he was angry, he couldn't do anything.
"Look carefully, Weevil," Ling Bai said. "This old woman can't be your mother. You're so handsome, how could such an ugly woman be your mother?"
"I'm your big brother!" Ling Bai continued. "This old woman lied to you and used you to get what she wanted."
Seeing this, Shiryu and the others understood Ling Bai's plan. He obviously wanted to trick Weevil into becoming a crew member.
Weevil was shocked by Ling Bai's words. He looked at Miss Buckin's face seriously, and his face fell.
"Yes, she's not my mother! Not my mother at all!"
"I'm so handsome, how could such an ugly monster be my mother?"
Weibull sounded like an idiot as he shouted
"I'm your big brother, Weevil. Follow me from now on."
"Big brother! You are my big brother!" Weevil stood up, and to Ling Bai's surprise, his injuries seemed to be healed. In such a short time?
This guy is a real dummy! But at least he's strong and easy to control. Perfect new crew member! After all, dumb people don't have bad intentions, right?
