The United Magical Congress, Major Crime Investigation Department gathered a group of high-ranking wizards from the United Kingdom. They were holding a copy of the New York Newspaper, with the front-page headline about the housing collapse on Green Street threatening to expose wizards' boundary.
This incident triggered the magic exposure threat level wheel at the Congress Hall.
Seraphina Picquery, the current president of the Magical Congress, a proud witch with her hair wrapped in a black scarf, seemed a bit tired today.
"The International Federation of Wizards intends to send a delegation. They believe this incident is connected to Grindelwald's attack in Europe."
Grindelwald, who was attentively watching the report, froze. Could this blame be directed at him? Even though he was indeed in New York, he quickly asserted, "I was there! It's a magical creature. No human has that ability, Mr. President."
"No matter what it is, one thing is certain, it must be stopped," Seraphina Picquery stared at him. "It will frighten No-Majs. When No-Majs are scared, they may attack, which leads to exposure! It could even result in a potential war!"
She was feeling irritable. Patience was running thin regarding this matter. Since she took power, these attacks have happened sporadically, with no consistent pattern or identifiable perpetrator.
In the United States, the secrecy of wizards is of the utmost importance. However, this ongoing attack has left the wizards in constant fear, wary of potential exposure to the magical world.
She will not allow this to happen under her leadership.
As for the threat from the International United Wizards? She couldn't care less about those pompous old men!
What does Grindelwald have to do with any of this? It's a dark wizard that has scared these old guys out of their wits.
When these attacks began a few years ago, Grindelwald was still a guest of the major European ministries of magic!
In recent years, Grindelwald has been causing trouble in Europe. He and his henchmen have launched several attacks across the continent, gaining attention from No-Majs and almost exposing the wizarding world several times.
Today, the European wizarding world is in chaos. They are busy cleaning up after Grindelwald, maintaining the "Law of Secrecy" and ensuring the secrecy of the wizarding world.
These significant impacts have kept Grindelwald in the headlines worldwide for an extended period. "Gellert Grindelwald Returns and Plunders Europe"? "Dark Wizard Terrorist Threat"? "Where is Grindelwald?"
Not long ago, after the Swedish Ministry of Magic launched an eradication operation that ultimately failed, Grindelwald and his henchmen vanished, with Grindelwald in particular disappearing without a trace.
Throughout Europe, people are becoming anxious. While the unpredictable Grindelwald gave them turmoil, his sudden silence now frightens them even more.
They fear that Grindelwald's next appearance will bring about a major disaster and shatter the peace that has been maintained for centuries through the "Law of Secrecy," which has allowed wizards to live undisturbed.
It is well-known that Grindelwald aims to dismantle the law of secrecy, expose the magical world, and incite a war between wizards and Muggles.
The Magical Congress, born as a response to the Salem witch hunts, is well aware of the consequences of such exposure. Although they agree to capture Grindelwald, the rebellious figure in the wizarding world, it is not their top priority.
The situation in the United States is quite delicate, and any small disturbance could unsettle the fragile magical community within it.
While the crisis at hand troubles Ms. Seraphina Picquery, the whereabouts of Grindelwald in the United States remain unknown.
Just as she grows most irritated, she encounters someone she does not wish to see - Tina Goldstein, the woman who nearly caused a major incident by performing magic in front of numerous No-Majs.
This act is virtually unforgivable!
Incensed, Seraphina contemplates severe punishment for Tina. However, due to numerous pleas from others, Tina ultimately faces a lesser punishment of losing her status as an Auror and being reassigned to the wand licensing office.
Upon seeing President Picquery's stern expression, Tina is left feeling numb.
Little does she know, the President is personally involved here!
Tina had come seeking her former boss, Mr. Graves, the Director of the Magical Law Enforcement Department, hoping for an opportunity to regain her position as an Auror.
"It's over now..." Tina sighs with a tinge of sadness.
Meanwhile, Newt, who accompanied Tina, is completely oblivious to the situation. He knows no one here and is unaware of what is happening.
"I believe I have made your case quite clear, Miss Goldstein," Picquery declares, staring intensely at her.
Tina lowers her head, completely deflated in front of Newt. "Yes, President Picquery, I understand, but -"
Interrupting her, Picquery coldly reminds her, "You are no longer an Auror."
Tina tries to interject, "Yes, President Picquery, but -"
Unwilling to hear Tina's argument, Picquery cuts her off, saying, "Miss Goldstein -"
Tina fights for her case, "There's something you should know -"
"This office is strictly for emergencies of the utmost importance," Ms. Picquery asserts. "Leave."A shameful heat flushed Tina's cheeks, making them slightly red. "Yes, President," Tina responded, bowing her head as she gently nudged the bewildered Newt towards the elevator.
Grindelwald, disguised as Graves, remained silent as he studied Newt thoughtfully.
Newt Scamander, a protege of his old friend.
His followers had informed him of the intriguing adventures Newt had experienced in Africa...
"Well," Aurelius muttered to himself, observing the scene, his hand resting on his chin, "I must admit, I strongly dislike this woman. Well, now there are two of them."
