"You should head back and go to sleep now."
Just a moment before, she had given him a soft embrace. Now she was telling him to go back. Ethan quietly closed his eyes.
"Husband!"
Ethan heard her helpless cry, but he ignored it. They were married. No one would criticize them for sleeping in the same bed. And he wanted to stay by Adelina's side, even if it was just for today.
However, despite Ethan's wishes, Adelina's insides were being burnt to ashes.
Not knowing what to do, Adelina began to fidget before she carefully approached the edge of the bedding.
"H-Husband! Are you sleeping?"
Adelina asked cautiously, her voice slightly shaking. Ethan was used to her answering him with firm resolution, so this sounded very new to him.
He never imagined a woman's voice would cause him to waver like this.
"Husband! You should head back and go to bed."
