Chương 395: Sukiyaki?

"Boss, should we still go?" the flame photographer asked cautiously.

Morgans' expression changed several times. He had just assured them that being in the sky meant they didn't need to worry about safety, but now he had been quickly proven wrong. Given the size of that giant elephant, even at their highest altitude, they couldn't escape the range of its trunk.

"We're going!" Morgans said firmly.

Despite the flame photographer's complaints, the two continued their journey towards Wano's skies.

...

"But no matter what, the Kozuki family has been recognized as the shogun of Wano for centuries! Even if Oden made mistakes, he ultimately died fighting to protect Wano!" Izo tried to defend the legitimacy of the Kozuki family's claim.

"We sympathize with Kozuki Oden's death, but that's all. What we can offer you now is ample time to pack your things and leave Wano," Ashina Isshin replied, his patience wearing thin. As he had said, he didn't care who was the nominal ruler of Wano; he cared about whether the common people could live in peace. If Kaido and Orochi had been able to bring a good life to Wano, they wouldn't have minded serving under them. But clearly, Kaido and Orochi never cared about their well-being.

"I am Kozuki Oden's son, the future shogun of Wano. No matter what, I will not leave Wano. If you must expel me, you'll have to do it over my dead body!" Momo no Suke declared as he stepped out from behind his protectors, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi, with a look of determination.

Ashina Isshin fell silent. While they had no great respect for the Kozuki family, they couldn't deny the deep-rooted influence of Wano's education, which ingrained loyalty to the Kozuki clan from a young age. Driving out the Kozuki family was one thing, but killing them was another, given their status as Wano's legitimate rulers.

Nicholas watched the scene unfold, a slight smile playing on his lips. It seemed that the series of upheavals had caused Momo no Suke to grow considerably. Although his little schemes had no real impact on someone like Nicholas, he was curious to see how the new mindset of the people from Wano's Hakumai would clash with their deeply ingrained feudal loyalty.

After a moment of silence, Ashina Isshin put away the expulsion notice. Just as Denjiro and the others thought Isshin had been moved by Momo no Suke's impassioned speech and was about to submit to him, Isshin slowly drew the katana from his waist. The killing intent unique to a sword saint surged forth unabated.

"All sins and grievances will fall upon me!"

The implication was clear: Damn it, I tried to let you leave with dignity, but if you keep pushing, I'll have no choice but to cut you down.

"Wait!"

Just as Isshin was about to swing his sword at Momo no Suke, a figure suddenly appeared between the two groups.

Everyone's attention was drawn to the person who had suddenly intervened.

This person slowly removed the mask from their face.

"It's you!"

Recognizing the face they hadn't seen in decades, Ashina Isshin looked incredulous.

"Lord Sukiyaki!"

Denjiro and Izo were equally shocked, and Lady Toki wore a look of astonishment.

No one had expected that Kozuki Sukiyaki, who was supposed to be dead, would return from the grave.

"In my negligence years ago, that despicable Orochi usurped the country. To spite me, he faked my death and imprisoned me, forcing me to watch helplessly as Wano suffered under his tyranny. By the time I escaped from Orochi's prison, Oden was already dead. I had considered seppuku to atone for my failures, but I chose to live in hiding to preserve the secrets guarded by the Kozuki clan. Thus, all this is my fault and has nothing to do with this innocent child."

As he spoke, Kozuki Sukiyaki knelt down, tears streaming down his face.

While everyone was distracted by Sukiyaki's sudden reappearance, Nicholas moved swiftly, grabbing Sukiyaki by the collar and lifting him up, his Observation Haki and bioelectric field working at full capacity.

...

In a treehouse in the Mokomo Dukedom on the back of Zou:

"Duke Sheephead, Zunesha's mood is becoming increasingly unstable!" a giant bear mink urgently addressed Duke Sheephead, who sat on his throne.

"Indeed, ever since Zunesha started heading in a specific direction, as if responding to a call, instead of wandering aimlessly, I have felt increasingly uneasy," a female cat mink added, echoing the sentiments of many present. Animals often have heightened senses for danger, and Zunesha's change in behavior had amplified their anxiety.

As the minks discussed the reasons behind Zunesha's sudden change in direction, a monkey mink leaped through the window.

"Duke Sheephead, there's a massive island standing in the sea ahead of Zunesha!"

The minks in the treehouse were all taken aback. According to ancient records passed down through generations, Zunesha had always roamed the seas aimlessly, never approaching any islands. Now, Zunesha was heading straight for a gigantic island. Coupled with Zunesha's recent erratic behavior and their growing unease, the minks couldn't help but feel alarmed.

"Sound the alarm for enemy attack and have the Musketeers prepare for battle. Arrange for the civilians to seek shelter," Duke Sheephead commanded after a moment of thought.

"Understood!"

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The deep sound of the alarm bell echoed over the ancient city on Zunesha's back. The minks, busy with their daily tasks, all looked up towards the source of the sound, faces filled with surprise. Though they didn't understand why the alarm for enemy attack was sounding, they instinctively headed home as if rehearsed countless times.

Members of the Musketeers dashed along the rooftops towards the bell, where they would receive orders and instructions from Duke Sheephead.

Meanwhile, in Kuri, Wano:

The Whitebeard Pirates, who were about to leave, suddenly halted, their attention drawn to the direction outside Wano. Through the thick mist, they saw an enormous elephant emerge, raising its trunk.

"BWOOO!"

With a deep, ancient-sounding trumpet, tens of thousands of tons of seawater shot from the elephant's trunk, heading towards a specific direction in Kuri.

"Father, that direction is...?"

Marco asked in astonishment, watching the colossal spray of water fall.
