She slid down against the wall, curling into herself as the fatigue took over. 

Her mind drifted into an uneasy sleep, plagued by nightmares of being trapped forever, of shadows that crept closer with each passing second. 

In her dreams, she heard muffled voices, though indistinct, they were filled with urgency, and the distant clatter of footsteps that never quite reached her.

She tossed and turned on the cold floor, every sound amplified in her restless sleep. She dreamt of Jace, of Charles, of moments that felt painfully out of reach now. 

In the early hours of the morning, she jolted awake, her heart racing as she tried to figure out where she was. 

"Where am I?" She opened her mouth to ask but she couldn't even speak as her throat burned with thirst.
