It took Grace some time before she understood what he was talking about and why she had called him in the first place.
"It's.. it's about the case with the Beaumont family," she stammered.
"What about them?" Jace asked, his expression that of indifference.
"Did… did you, did you go against them because of what happened between Ms Cory and …. I?" Grace finally managed to ask.
Jace didn't fail to take note of her hands wringing nervously as she struggled to find the right words.
Hiding his amusement behind a smirk he said,
"Don't flatter yourself. I agree you've done a lot to help Charles but you don't expect me to take such a drastic step because of your little quibbles with my cousin."
Hearing Jace's words, Grace couldn't help but frown slightly as she recalled how Jace had stood up for her the first time Cory came to look for trouble with her in her room when she just resumed here.
