I crossed my arms and leaned against the wall beside Reyin's room. Waiting. I hadn't spotted him in the courtyards where he usually roamed around this morning hour, nor had he been anywhere I'd looked around the castle. If he wasn't in his room, I would reluctantly start my search from the beginning.
What he did and where he went wasn't any of my business, and I found myself repeatedly trying to convince myself that I didn't actually care where he was.
But seeing him all cozy with that bratty brother of his had me feeling…worried or at least something akin to concern. Reyin latched onto his brother like an eager puppy, lapping up every ounce of attention extended to him like he could die without it when it was much more likely his brother's attention would be the death of him.
