Earlier, Alpha Denzel was unable to move Alice, and with the python not changing direction or even looking his way, he had a feeling that Alice was somehow controlling it.

When he stood in front of Alice, all movements stopped, but the burn was becoming worse. The python did not try to attack him when he stood in front of Alice, meaning she was the target.

'What do we do?' He asked Brutus, who was equally helpless.

'We fight werewolves and not spirit pythons. Give the girl a chance,' Brutus suggested, but Alpha Denzel had no idea if Alice would really succeed at this and could not allow anything bad to happen to her.

'What if she doesn't make it? It would be our fault,' he pointed out to his wolf, but Brutus has always been fearless.

'I'm ready to take the blame. What about you?'

'Same,' Alpha Denzel agreed.
