Faced with Nebula's frankness, Clark simply smiled and then asked, "Before we proceed, could you tell me why you replaced the Nebula of our timeline and what your purpose is in coming here?"
Having been exposed by Clark, Nebula openly admitted, "Thanos sent me."
Without waiting for further questions, she explained, "When the Nebula of your timeline returned to 2014, due to the presence of two of me at the same point in time, and because of my mechanical body, I inherited the other Nebula's memories and experienced a temporary program malfunction."
"Thanos noticed my anomaly and had Ebony Maw play back my memories, so he learned about everything that would happen later, including his tragic end." Spreading her hands, Nebula matter-of-factly said, "I was just an innocent victim. To survive, I had no choice but to pledge loyalty to Thanos immediately."
"Then, he ordered me to impersonate the other Nebula, infiltrate your ranks, and use your time machine to bring him and his army to this timeline to personally settle everything and correct the mistakes he made earlier."
Hearing this, Captain America anxiously asked, "What does he plan to do?"
"Eradicate all life in the universe and reboot it," Nebula declared dramatically. "He believes that way, new humanity will have no attachment or reluctance, no hatred, only gratitude, and then happily exist in this universe."
Everyone gasped at her words. Such a horrifying plan!
Clark then asked, "Given all this, why haven't you followed through with his plan after all this time?"
"Don't tell me you had no opportunity. In fact, everyone was off guard against you. You had plenty of chances to do this in the past month."
Nebula grimly smiled and then said firmly, "Because in this universe, the person who hates Thanos the most has always been me!"
As she stood up excitedly, Nebula continued, "You think I willingly obeyed him because I genuinely respected him?"
"Don't make me laugh!" Nebula said hysterically. "Who do you think is responsible for me becoming this half-human, half-ghost creature?"
"I obeyed him out of fear and because I couldn't escape his control!"
"Even though I'm now in a different timeline from him, he has learned from my memories how to time-travel and even obtained Pym Particles from the other Nebula, successfully replicating them! Don't be surprised. Did you think the technological power of the Dark Order couldn't achieve this?"
Everyone was shocked by her revelation. Nebula continued, "That's why he confidently let me come here alone to spy. If I hadn't brought him and his army here as agreed, he could have come by other means, though it would have been much more troublesome."
"That's also why he wasn't worried I'd betray him because I hadn't completely escaped his grasp."
The Avengers fell silent, realizing the threat from Thanos was far more terrifying than they had imagined.
Then, Nebula added, "As for why I haven't acted on his demands, it's because of Clark."
Hearing this, Clark was baffled, "What does this have to do with me?"
"Of course, it does," Nebula sat back down. "You gave me hope, showing that Thanos isn't invincible. Since you could steal the Soul Stone from Thanos, there's a chance you could help me kill him. Given the opportunity, I'd definitely try to oppose him."
"For that cold-blooded foster father, I'd love to kill him myself, three thousand times over!"
"In fact, knowing you'd leave here to return to your own timeline after returning the Stones, I was planning to disclose this, seeing what you'd do."
After hearing Nebula's story, Wanda's eyes flashed with intense killing intent, "That villain still wants to cause trouble? This might not be a bad thing for me."
Hulk frowned slightly, "It seems we can't avoid this matter."
"We can't hide even if we wanted to," Tony said gravely. "Since Thanos changed his original intention and became crazier because of us, he would use the Infinity Stones to erase all life in his timeline."
"That would mean we harmed everyone in that timeline. We can't be so selfish."
Captain Marvel stood up decisively, "My suggestion is, we fight!"
Clark gave her a thumbs up, "Honestly, I didn't have a great impression of you in my timeline. But this statement is very much to my liking. I love it!"
Standing up slowly, Clark said, "But since we're going to fight, we must hold the initiative. Thanos wanted Nebula to bring them here, right? This means we can choose the time and place for the final battle."
With that, Clark's eyes also burst with a strong will to fight, "Tony, could you have FRIDAY project the image of Morag? As an abandoned planet, it has oxygen for humans to survive. The environment isn't great, but it's sufficient for a battlefield."
"Let's discuss the arrangement of the battlefield next..."
...
Half a month later, on Morag.
In the deserted temple, Nebula glanced around, noticing everyone was ready, and then sharply pulled the switch of the quantum teleportation device.
The next moment, the dim sky exploded with intense quantum energy fluctuations.
Thanos's Sanctuary II appeared amidst a halo of light, dominating the skies of Morag, casting a shadow over everything.
Inside Sanctuary II, Thanos and his company, freshly transported, were ready for action. Ebony Maw, in charge of the ship's attack system, planned to carpet bomb the area as per the plan but suddenly realized something was amiss, "We've been tricked! Nebula betrayed us. This isn't Earth!"
However, his realization came too late.
Almost simultaneously as Ebony Maw noticed their location wasn't Earth, Tony's eighty-one high-intensity focused laser cannons, pre-energized by Clark with the Space Stone and aware of the enemy's size and plans, didn't concern themselves with endurance issues. In just thirty seconds, before Sanctuary II could retaliate, all its energy was depleted.
The massive ship was peppered with holes in that half-minute, severely damaged.
But the situation was far from over.
As the energy cannons ceased fire due to energy depletion, a dazzling figure soared from the ground directly towards Sanctuary II, shining brightly against the dark sky.
Upon closer inspection, it was a glowing female figure, Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel!
Who's the strongest at demolition in Marvel?
First is the Fire Giant Surtur, whose attack power is unmatched. Next is Captain Marvel. While her power might not be the strongest, and she might fall slightly short against Thanos in a duel, her ability is monstrous for ship demolition.
Her attacks, mostly penetrative AOE damage, can devastate if you can't block them.
Sanctuary II's defenses were formidable but not enough to withstand Captain Marvel's assault.
Thus, they could only watch as Captain Marvel's radiant figure pierced their ship like a blade, entering one side and exiting the other in mere moments, turning Sanctuary II into a sieve full of holes.
Then, a handsome Chinese man, utilizing space powers, teleported directly above Sanctuary II. Standing
atop the ship, Clark transformed his cloak into a staff form, lifting it high above his head. The Power Stone in the center glowed a captivating purple, then he slammed it down hard!
"Boom!"
The destructive purple energy enveloped the entire ship in an instant.
In the hands of a powerful being, the Power Stone's might could easily obliterate a planet. Now, Clark undoubtedly qualified as such a being.
At this moment, he concentrated the planet-destroying force of the Power Stone onto an already battered ship.
How could Sanctuary II withstand the full force of the Power Stone?
In an instant, the ship disintegrated under the energy shock, turning into space debris, then vanished into nothingness.
Thanos's small army of Outriders and other troops didn't even get a chance to appear before becoming cosmic dust.
Why are they called cannon fodder?
Only by turning into dust can they live up to their name!
