Lucien continued to stare at the mimic with a look of disgust as it stared back at him. For some reason, it felt as though he'd been caught peeping, and he quickly turned his head to Lithira.
"So, Lithira, about this mimic... Are you sure it isn't dangerous?" he asked, trying to divert the mimic's attention away from him.
"Well, it depends on what they choose to mimic. Once they decide on a form, they won't change into anything else. That's why they spend so much time observing the creature they want to mimic before fully committing," Lithira explained, her excitement clear.
She had a deep interest in monsters and plants, and discussing something she was passionate about was always enjoyable.
"However," she continued, "their transformation isn't perfect. No matter how much they try to blend in, you can usually tell it's a mimic."
"I see..." Lucien murmured, trying to absorb the information.
