Chapter – 2 The List of Enemies

Uchiha Sasuke's apartment, Konohagakure

While Yūgao was reporting everything that happened in the past week to the Sandaime Hokage of Konoha, Uchiha Sasuke was inside the bathroom of his new apartment, taking a bath, he hadn't cleaned himself for the past week, so he needed to wash himself of all the sweat and dust, and he also needed to think about what to do from here on.

Sitting inside the bathtub, the young boy looked at his reflection in the water, and muttered to himself, "I am Uchiha Sasuke, at the same time, I am not Uchiha Sasuke…" The boy has mixed feelings about his current situation, and the person he has become. He is currently a mix of an assassin from modern-day Earth who died because of the betrayal of his close aid and a seven-year-old boy whose family and Clan were killed by his very own brother for the Greater Good.

Certainly, he admired 'Uchiha Sasuke' and felt pity for the tragic life the boy of the Uchiha Clan lived, losing his family, losing his Clan, then living only for the sake of revenge only to find out the 'truth' and realizing that his revenge was meaningless then changing his target of revenge, only going halfway through it then changing his approach once again, participating in the fourth great shinobi war and so on and so forth, but thinking about it now, the way everything went for him, so many things went wrong.

The annihilation of the Uchiha Clan was just the beginning, through the next decade 'Uchiha Sasuke' suffered emotionally and psychologically to the point that he became a wreck by the end, his life is too pitiful, and now that he has to live this life, certainly the boy is afraid, even if he was a seasoned assassin, he is not ready for such a life ahead of him.

"The desire for revenge was the only thing that kept Uchiha Sasuke going forward until the very end, if not for that, he would have collapsed… even now… the burning desire for revenge in this heart, it is unsatiable… if not for the fact that the current 'Sasuke' understands that he is powerless against the Hokage and the other villagers at this moment, perhaps he would have immediately started killing 'those' his targets of revenge." On the thought of strength, the boy instinctively controlled his Chakra and moved it into his eyes causing them to change, "Sharingan…" He had activated Sharingan on the night of the Uchiha Genocide when the soul of the assassin from the modern-day Earth merged with the 'young Sasuke.'

"One… two… three… currently it's the three tomoe Sharingan, the highest stage before it evolves into the Mangekyō Sharingan," the boy muttered looking at the reflection of his Sharingan in the water, and sighed regretfully, "Unfortunately, I failed to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan…!"

If he had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan on that night, things would become smoother going forward, but he failed… it was probably because of the lack of Chakra and physical strength.

The boy believes that emotional stimulation and his spiritual strength should have been more than enough to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan, after all, there are a lot of things 'Uchiha Sasuke' learned on that night, and he had also gone through emotional torture just after losing his parents and Clan at the hands of his dearest elder brother, so there's no problem in terms of emotional stimulation, and since the current Uchiha Sasuke is the result of the fusion of two souls, so there's bound to be enough spiritual power, hence what he lacked at that time was not spiritual strength or emotional stimulation, but physical strength and Chakra.

The conditions for awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan are definitely spiritual strength, physical strength, along with the Uchiha bloodline, as well as emotional stimulation.

Uchiha Obito awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan upon witnessing the death of Rin at the hands of his best friend. Uchiha Shisui awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan upon witnessing the death of his close friend and teammate. Uchiha Itachi awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan upon witnessing the death of his best friend Shisui.

At the time they awakened these eyes, they should have fulfilled all the necessary conditions, all of them were in their teenage and perhaps had the necessary physical strength, along with spiritual strength and emotional stimulation, meanwhile, the current Sasuke is only a little above seven years old, obviously not at the right age. His physique is not strong enough, and as a result, the physical energy in his body is not enough, which leads to insufficient Chakra for Mangekyō Sharingan.

Based on what the assassin recalls from the Canon and based on what 'Sasuke' remembers from his memories as a second-year student of the Konoha Ninja Academy, Chakra is a combination of Physical energy and spiritual energy mixed in a 1:1 ratio. While the current Sasuke does have more than enough in the department of spiritual energy, he is only a seven-year-old boy, so his physical strength is definitely not good enough.

"Excessive drawing out Chakra can even lead to death, perhaps, that's why the survival instinct of my body stopped the evolution of the three tomoe Sharingan into the Mangekyō Sharingan," this was the only explanation that made sense. The moment he awakened his three-tomoe Sharingan, he went into a Coma for the next six days, this can only mean that perhaps even the three-tomoe Sharingan is a bit of a burden for him.

"Perhaps I should be glad that I did not awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan at that time, otherwise, I might have really…" sighed Sasuke. While bittersweet might not be the best word to describe his current mood, it's a close call, he is glad that he did not awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan, but at the same time, he is not happy about it either.

"To awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan in the future, I might need to kill a loved one… but the way I am at the moment, there's hardly anyone I can consider a loved one… all my loved ones have died, and while Itachi is still alive out there somewhere, my feelings for him are complicated… moreover, death would be an easy way out for Itachi… he may have done what he did for the sake of greater good, but that does not mean he is allowed to die so easily… Itachi must suffer, suffer for the rest of his life with pain and regret for what he did. Therefore, killing Itachi is not something I will do… if I want to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan, I will have to think of another approach," mumbled Sasuke as he deactivated the Sharingan and sighed deeply.

"Sigh, I need to calm my mind and plan out things rather than recklessly moving forward as Sasuke did in the Canon, the boy in the Canon had no idea what he was doing, he was only moving forward with what seemed best option to him. The 'me' now can't move forward like 'he' did, first I need to make a list of people I want dead. Sarutobi Hiruzen, Shimura Danzō, Utatane Koharu, Mitokado Homura… these four leaders of Konoha, all of them deserve nothing less than the most painful death. After that, it's Obito and Itachi."

Itachi and Obito might have been responsible for the Uchiha Genocide, Sarutobi Hiruzen's incompetence and Shimura Danzō's greed pushed Uchiha to that point, and the two elder advisors Utatane Koharu, as well as Mitokado Homura, are certainly no less responsible for the Uchiha Genocide because they did not do their work properly.

"Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura, these two should not be that difficult to kill… I don't believe that either of them would be as strong as a Kage, perhaps at the level of an Elite Jōnin, and maybe a little trickier, but nothing more than that… but Sarutobi Hiruzen and Shimura Danzō… these two would be very difficult to kill. Shimura Danzō is probably the second strongest person in Konoha at the moment, not counting Jiraiya, not to mention he has all those Sharingan that he would most definitely implant in his arm for Izanagi… which means if I have to kill him, I have to kill him eleven times… no wait, he also has Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan which he can also use to cast Kotoamatsukami on him other than Izanagi, so maybe twelve times… and his subordinate Anbu wouldn't watch me kill him time and time again while sitting, they would definitely interfere…

After Danzō, it's Sarutobi Hiruzen, the root of all problems in Konoha, including the Uchiha Genocide. He may not be the strongest Hokage, and he is certainly not the strongest Kage among the current Five Kages, but he is still strong enough to be feared by many. Although he would be less tricky to deal with compared to Shimura Danzō, Sandaime Hokage is definitely stronger than the leader of Root.

Mastery over all five Chakra Natures, and he is also a Fuinjutsu expert, along with Bukijutsu. He has that Monkey King Summon of his that can transform into an unbreakable diamond-hard Adamantine Staff which is a rip-off version of Ruyi Jingu Bang from the legends of Son Wukong… but that is still not the most dangerous skill of his, Sarutobi Hiruzen's trump card is definitely the 'Reaped Death Seal.' Even the Nine-Tails is helpless against the Reaper Death Seal, and I doubt Hiruzen wouldn't try to seal me inside the stomach of Shinigami at the cost of his life once I try to kill him, and let's not forget countless Konoha Anbu and Konoha Shinobi including Jiraiya, Hatake Kakashi, Might Guy, and Sarutobi Asuma who would definitely interfere and create trouble for me when I try to kill Sarutobi Hiruzen.

If I do manage to get through these four, I will have to deal with being marked as a traitor, which in itself is not that big of a deal, but the constant pursuit of Konoha Shinobi and all those bounty hunters would be a hassle to deal with at that point, and let's not forget that one of the three Sannin Orochimaru would also be among the list of people trying to pursue me in order to obtain the perfect body in his pursuit of immortality and knowledge, that guy would be a pain in the butt.

Supposedly, if I do manage to get away from Konoha's forces, Orochimaru, and countless Bounty Hunters, my next target of revenge would be Uchiha Obito, in order to get to him, I would need to join the Akatsuki Organization, and Itachi would also be there… fighting Itachi is inevitable. Although Itachi wouldn't try to kill me, he would definitely attempt to use Kotoamatsukami on me in order to set me on the 'right' path, moreover, Itachi is far more difficult and stronger than either of the Sannin, Sandaime Hokage, Konoha Elders or other bounty hunters.

Beyond Itachi is Uchiha Obito with his Kamui, Izanagi, and Wood Release. He is not as strong as Itachi, however, his set of skills is difficult to overcome, and even someone like Madara is helpless against Obito's Kamui, unlike Konan, I doubt I will be able to use 5 billion exploding tags to kill him multiple times.

Fighting Itachi and Obito would also mean that I would become an enemy of the Akatsuki Organization, while Nagato may not care about most things, for the sake of 'his' goals, he might come after my life too in order to make me experience his pain, by then I would not only be hunted by Konoha, Akatsuki would mark me an enemy, heck, I might as well be treated the same way as Uchiha Madara, the enemy of entire Shinobi World.

Supposedly, I do manage to get away with that too, Black Zetsu hidden in the darkness might try to plot something… If I end up killing Orochimaru, Kabuto will come after my life for revenge. If Black Zetsu and Kabuto end up cooperating, Madara would be revived and would plan to put the entire world into Infinite Tsuki no Mi only to fail and be used as Black Zetsu for the rebirth of Kaguya who would try to convert every being on the planet into 'White Zetsu Being' in order to take back all the Chakra so that she can repel her planet eating clansmen.

Besides Kaguya, there's Ōtsutsuki Isshiki and his Kara organization hidden in the Shinobi World wanting to do the same thing as Kaguya. Another branch of the Ōtsutsuki Clan is on the moon, fighting amongst themselves to destroy the entire planet and create a new one believing that the Shinobi World created by the Sage of Six Path is a failure, and beyond them is the entire Ōtsutsuki Clan that wants nothing more than to eat more and more Chakra fruits in order to transcend."

Upon listing out all the enemies that he might have to face in the future, Sasuke felt numb, "The current me is helpless even against a Genin, let alone those village-destroying, country-destroying, and planet-destroying threats in the future…" and sighed, "Perhaps it would have been better to have died at the hands of Itachi along with Tou-san, and Kaa-san, at least, I wouldn't have to struggle against such enemies in the future, but it can't be helped… now that I am still alive, I need to plan out things for the future."

With such a thought in his mind, Sasuke got up from the bathtub and after drying his body with a towel, he changed into the pair of Pajamas that Yūgao had probably prepared for him in advance, then left the bathroom.
