Chương 103: It's the Prime Time for Fishing Harvest
The two of them waited quietly. Alice took out two boxes of ice cream from the storage and handed one to Hurley casually. The sea breeze brushed their faces as Alice enjoyed the sweet ice cream, feeling utterly content. Hurley, who didn't particularly like sweets, gradually developed a taste for them seeing Alice enjoying hers.
Before long, they heard some movement in the sea, with fish occasionally jumping out of the water.
"The fish are here, let's cast the net," Alice quickly finished her ice cream and prepared to fish. They had scattered plenty of bait, attracting more and more fish.
When they pulled up the first net, it was teeming with lively fish, with some of them big enough to weigh thirty to forty pounds.
"Our luck is pretty good. It's a great catch for our first time fishing at sea," Hurley chuckled.
Alice's lips curved upward, feeling jubilant.
Just as they were about to haul up the first net together, five boats approached from not far away, anchoring around them. Alice glanced over and recognized the boats they had encountered recently, with the captain who had invited them among them.
Jonathan saw that their boat had already caught quite a few fish and asserted forcefully, "This area of the sea is the spot we've chosen. You're not allowed to fish here."
His words drew the attention of the other sailors, silently cursing Jonathan for his shamelessness. It was clear he wanted to take advantage of their catch.
They were all experienced fishermen and could tell that Hurley and Alice had found a good spot for fishing. It was now the prime time for a good catch.
While they sympathized with Hurley and Alice, they couldn't return empty-handed. It wasn't easy to catch fish just anywhere, and the spot these two had found was excellent. As long as they stayed there, they would surely return with a full load.
In the face of self-interest, fairness and justice meant nothing. So even though they knew they were in the wrong, no one spoke up to refute Jonathan's words, let alone stand up for Hurley and Alice.
"If it were someone else, we wouldn't let them take a single fish. But considering your young age and novice status, we'll let it slide."
"Remember, you're not welcome here in the future."
Watching these people with faces like bandits, Alice sneered, "If you're so good at stealing, why not become pirates?"
Hurley's dark eyes chilled, "Such words might work on children."
Seeing that the two were unwilling to leave and even exposed them, Jonathan straightforwardly said, "We have our eyes on this place. Be sensible and leave, or else don't blame us for being impolite."
This group made it clear they intended to forcefully take over. Of course, Alice wouldn't indulge them, "What if we don't leave?"
As soon as she finished speaking, five men jumped down from the boat, twisting their wrists as they approached, a hint of fierceness on their faces.
"Not leaving? Then we'll take your boat too."
"Many people die at sea. Even if we lose you two, no one will suspect a thing."
"We gave you a chance. Since you choose not to take it, don't blame us for being ruthless."
The five men surrounded them, but Alice fearlessly faced them.
"Come on!"
Someone shouted lowly, and the others immediately rushed forward.
Alice kicked one down, grabbed the hand of another when he swung a punch, and elbowed him in the head with the other hand.
Hurley quickly dealt with the others as well.
Several men fell to the ground in an instant. They harshly hit Jonathan's face, turning it ashen.
"You think you can continue to rob us?" Alice gave him a contemptuous look.
Jonathan looked at the others, and they took two steps back, exchanging glances, "We're evenly matched in skills. We can't beat them.""Useless." Jonathan cursed, then pulled out his gun aimed at Hurley and Alice. "You fools don't know when to quit. Let's see whose moves are faster, yours or my bullets."Before he could finish his sentence, Jonathan immediately fired his gun.
At the sound of the gunshot, Hurley and Alice swiftly dashed into the cabin of the boat.
Alice grabbed a submachine gun and sprayed bullets everywhere.
The scene was filled with smoke, and soon, there was silence outside.
Hurley pulled aside the curtain and glanced at the fishermen on the opposite boat, trembling with fear, while Jonathan lay on the ground.
The two stepped out of the cabin, and the fishermen on the other boats begged for mercy. "We're sorry, we won't bully anyone again."
"We have families to care for. My family can't do without me. It was Jonathan who incited us. We never wanted to do this."
"Don't shoot, we know we're wrong, we won't dare anymore."
"Come here!" Alice, holding the gun, indifferently shouted at them.
The group of men dared not move, standing hesitantly in their place.
"I'll count to three. Three, two..."
Before Alice could say "one", more than a dozen men ran towards her.
They stopped a short distance from Alice, cautiously asking, "We'll do whatever you say, just don't shoot."
"If you want to live, it's simple. Help us fish."
"?"
Five minutes later, Alice and Hurley sat in the cabin drinking juice while the dozen or so men worked hard to catch fish, of course, all of which belonged to Alice.
After catching the first batch of fish, Alice realized it wasn't an easy task; it required several people to exert force simultaneously. Even with her and Hurley's strength, it was quite challenging.
Now that they had ready-made manpower, it would be a waste not to use it.
"You're still cunning," Hurley said, raising an eyebrow at her.
Alice clicked her tongue. "They walked right into it. Whose fault is that?"
Three hours later, their boat was filled with fish."Let's go, back home," Alice said, satisfied after checking. While the fish were still alive, they needed to be sent back quickly.
The two sailed the boat away towards the direction of the K base.
The dozen or so men were already exhausted, sitting on the deck unwilling to move.Although they had worked in vain, at least their lives were spared.
"From now on, everyone should never underestimate anyone. If they dare to go out to sea, they must have some skill. Learn from this experience, consider it a lesson," Alice said.
Many people deeply resented Jonathan. If it weren't for him, they wouldn't have encountered such a miserable situation.
"Let's go check out other places. Try to find a suitable spot for fishing nests. If we return without catching any fish, this trip would be a loss," Alice continued.
They were about to leave disheartened when suddenly, there was a commotion from underwater.
"More fish are coming."The crowd cheered and immediately began fishing.

The trip went smoothly, and they returned after only two days at sea.Many people gathered at the dock, observing how much fish the returnees had caught.
As soon as Alice's boat docked, the onlookers rushed over, asking, "Do you want to sell fish?"
Seeing their enthusiasm, Alice opened the cabin.Inside were lively fish of various kinds, some of them exceptionally large.
"Where did you catch these fish?" They had gone out so many times, rarely returning with a full load. Occasionally breaking even was already considered good.
"Just out in the sea," Alice replied.
When asked about the specific location, she genuinely had no idea. However, the onlookers assumed they were unwilling to disclose it, which was understandable.
"How much are you selling the fish for?" Someone saw the fresh fish and wanted to buy some for themselves.
Alice looked at Hurley, unsure of how to price them.
Hurley also lacked experience in selling fish and had no idea of the market price.
Some savvy individuals immediately guessed the situation and said directly, "I'll buy a fish for one point."
