With the level two door and level three walls, David no longer had to worry about safety. Even if Charles turned against him now, he wouldn't be able to breach his 'absolute defense.' The rest of the rewards were also quite impressive.
The kitchen, needless to say, was like the previously obtained bedroom and bathroom – it could create a fully equipped kitchen with all the necessary tools, allowing David to cook his meals or even boil water. Of course, he needed raw materials for that as the kitchen wouldn't come with food.
Another round of house space expansion brought another 100 square meters, turning his room into a spacious 450 square meter villa, giving him even more space to move around freely.
Another penetration ring arrived, and these rings could merge with each other to form a larger penetration ring. This meant that if he needed to pass something outside, he wouldn't have to tear it into pieces like before.
But the most important of all was the anti-gravity device! When materialized, it appeared as a black box, about the size of a laptop. Placing it on the floor could put the entire house in anti-gravity mode.
Even if the whole building collapsed one day, his house would remain unaffected and might even float in the air! Of course, this would consume a lot of energy, but at least it would ensure a safe landing.
His biggest concern was now resolved by this anti-gravity device, giving him great peace of mind.
The fragment of gunmanship knowledge made him much more proficient with firearms. If he were to use a gun now, he could have accurately shot William in the head earlier. However, it seemed he wouldn't need this knowledge for now, similar to the previously obtained hand-to-hand combat knowledge – useful for making someone strong, but not particularly useful for him at the moment.
The last and also crucial item was the floating bombs. Like the previously obtained floating surveillance, these were tiny bombs that could float in the air, almost invisible to the naked eye but with impressive destructive power.
Although not as potent as real grenades, they were more than sufficient to kill a person.
Most importantly, they could be controlled remotely and had a large range of movement. They could move freely within a five-kilometer radius of the control device and would automatically explode if they went beyond this range. With these, David could kill invisibly, like a god dispensing divine punishment to mortals.
Armed with guns, bombs, and an absolute defense base, David suddenly felt a surge of confidence.
He believed he was now the strongest person in the world, incomparable to anyone else. Even the leader of the world's most powerful forces, a head of state, couldn't live as freely as he did. He ate a variety of lavish meals every day, and the aroma escaping from his room was enough to announce his wealth to anyone entering the building.
If Charles had any doubts initially, he was now utterly convinced by David. Although he hadn't visited David during this time, it didn't mean he wasn't paying attention. On the contrary, he had his men keep an eye on David's room constantly. The people living near David's apartment, on the same floor, downstairs, and upstairs, could smell the meat's aroma from his room every day. The rich fragrance was almost unbearable for them.
Living near the seventeenth floor became a painful experience. They thought they were living decently in these apocalyptic times, with something to eat every day, but compared to David, they were insignificant. It was outrageous! People near the seventeenth floor had to be rotated every three days to prevent them from becoming too envious.
Charles, living in Jones' house, didn't have to endure the cold and had a decent stock of food. Jones' house was on the fourteenth floor, not too far from the seventeenth. Occasionally, Charles could also smell the food from David's room, which further convinced him of David's unfathomable depths.
In the current environment, it was unthinkable for someone to eat lavish meals every day. But David could do it! And what was most unexpected was that he was impoverished not long ago, with everything in his house taken away! He was creating something out of nothing!
So, Charles developed a sense of awe towards David. He was no longer a normal human being. As unbelievable as it might sound, the world had already changed dramatically, entering an apocalyptic stage. Why couldn't there be beings beyond ordinary humans? Like gods, angels, or saints in mythology, showing their supernatural presence in a dark world.
Charles could fully accept this. Therefore, unless there was something special, he didn't want to disturb David. But now, he faced a crisis and had to seek David's help. After David had spent a peaceful dozen days, Charles came to the seventeenth floor.
"Brother!" Charles called out, "Brother, are you there?"
David heard the sound from the terminal monitor but initially didn't pay attention as he was playing a game. After hearing the noise, he maneuvered his rhino tank into the opponent's house, easily annihilating them. He felt somewhat bored – playing against these rigid AI was too easy, almost like winning without effort.
Leaning back in his chair, he listened to the noise outside and then stood up and walked out. He saw Charles on the monitor, standing in front of his door with two subordinates, looking somewhat anxious but trying not to show it.
"Mr. Charles, for you to come looking for me personally, it must not be something trivial," David said.
"Brother, you're right." Charles, finally hearing David speak, suppressed his restlessness and said, "Brother, what's your view on the outside world now?"
"The outside world?" David was startled and glanced out the window. It seemed no different from before, so he asked, "What's wrong?"
"Ah?" Charles, somewhat surprised, said, "Brother, don't you know what's happening outside?"
"I don't care," David said leisurely, "Charles, just speak directly."
