Chương 2454: Chapter 1702: Bruce Wayne and the Magic Stone (Part 17)_2

The only door that seemed to allow for exit from this suite was on one side wall in the rest room. There were no signs indicating a lock on the door, but the door would not open. An extremely complex symbol was painted on the door. At least Little Bruce, Halley, and Barry could not comprehend it; they could not even make out a part of it.

"I guess we might need to find the meaning of this symbol from those books and then find the key according to the guidance of the symbol." Barry sighed and said, "If I'm not wrong, this should be a puzzle set by Professor Rodriguez."

"Oh my god, spare me!" Halley let out a scream, sliding down the wall slowly like a blob of mud, despairingly staring at the mountain-like piles of books, and she said, "I'm going to die here!"

Little Bruce remained silent for a long time, moving next to the piles of books, flipping through one after another. Barry also seemed a bit disheartened; he didn't feel capable of finishing all these books while alive.

It was not about the quantity of books, rather what they could see was that all the books were not understandable by the human race. This meant that if they wanted to find clues, they would not be able to deduce anything from the content. Either they had to read all the books, or they had to find another way.

"I bet that finishing reading these books is not the normal solution." Barry began to touch and knock on the walls alongside him, seemingly searching for a hidden switch.

Bruce was still silently reading books, Halley finally decided to join Barry's team, because although she was indeed a smart genius, she was not good at decoding codes.

"What's that symbol? Why have I never seen it before?" Constantine from outside of the screen asked with some confusion while staring at the complex pattern on the door. He spoke cautiously after looking at it for a while, "It looks chaotic, some of the elements are Phoenician, but those also look like symbols used by the Israelites…"

"I drew it randomly."

When this came out of Shiller's mouth, everyone turned their heads to look at him. Shiller revealed a slightly mysterious smile and then said, "Still remember the purpose of this test? Do not excessively respect authority, and do not think that knowledge from demons and angels is noble."

"So the key is...."

"Can be seen by removing the 'Mountain Books'."

Constantine slapped his own forehead, then said, "So is this just a test of brute strength?"

"Isn't what we are seeking now to make dealing with angels and demons a test of brute strength?"

Strange nodded in agreement immediately.

"The purpose of learning magic theory is not really to understand the obscure knowledge of angels and demons. I prefer to regard this as a fraud prevention guide. Your mind must contain enough truths in order to discern what is true and what is false in what angels and demons say."

"But this is all based on the premise that angels and demons can't forcibly control you." Strange stroked his chin and said, "If they can't use force, and magicians are becoming less and less deceitful through education, then they really only have the option to negotiate with us."

After touching almost every wall in the room, Barry and Halley had not found anything. Halley detonated a grenade in the smaller rest room and also shot the lock, but it was of no use. It was obviously different from the constructions above ground.

Then Barry somewhat despairingly believed that they really needed to finish reading those books. He walked dejectedly to Bruce's side and asked him, "Where have you read up to? Can I help with anything?"

"In fact, I didn't see anything." Little Bruce shook his head and said, "If given enough time, I think I can decipher these mysterious languages, but I think it's meaningless."

"But if we can't understand, how do we decipher the mysterious symbol?"

Little Bruce snorted and threw the book in his hand away. He watched it roll around twice on the ground before crossing his arms and said, "Just as you said, this is a puzzle designed by Professor Rodriguez. Don't forget, besides being a professor at Gotham Magic Academy, he is also a world-renowned master of psychology, at least renowned in your world."

"So what?"

"Have you ever heard of the theory of 'the elephant in the room'?"

Barry shook his head blankly, and Halley frowned and said, "I've heard a bit about it. Doesn't it refer to something very conspicuous in a space but which is overlooked?"

"It's more like 'something we all knowingly choose to ignore'". Little Bruce looked up at the 'Mountain Books' and said, "This is the reverse application of the theory. The professor has created something that we can't ignore and must pay attention to, which precisely indicates that the answer is not related to this thing in and of itself."

Outside the screen, Shiller paused slightly with the cigar in his hand, and again everyone's eyes were on him. He slowly exhaled a puff of cigar smoke and said, "I won't have found the only Bruce Wayne in all the universes who is not proficient in psychology, right?"

Bruce Wayne then turned away.

"It's pretty obvious that the room has been purposely arranged to appear like it contains nothing except the 'Mountain Books'. However, it must have had some other things in it before. If it was just to put these books in, it wouldn't be necessary to move all the furniture."

Little Bruce began to pace the spot, conjecturing, "If the person who set up this puzzle did so, it suggests that this action has its purpose; maybe it's a hint."

"The puzzle in the last room was too simple. Maybe it was also a prelude to the puzzle in this room. The last room contained only those jars, and they just happened to be the key to the puzzle. This could lead people to think inductively, prevailing that the answer to the puzzle in this room is in the only thing it has: these books."

"But if the one who set all of this is a master of psychology, we might think in reverse: these books are the only things in the room that have absolutely no correlation to the puzzle. They are simply to confuse us and attract our attention."

"That makes sense." Little Bruce stopped and stroked his chin, "Maybe that's how angels and demons manipulate us too. When we turn to demons for answers, they give us forbidden knowledge, but they don't say anything else. It seems as if as long as we learn this knowledge, we can naturally find the answers we want."

"But the answer could be anywhere, but not necessarily among this knowledge. When the magicians are finally driven mad by this forbidden knowledge, they will say that they never said the answer was in the knowledge."

"I can imagine that some magicians have been deceived in this way." Halley walked over to Little Bruce's side, stood shoulder to shoulder with him, and asked, "So where do you think the key would be?"

"I believe that Professor Rodriguez is the kind of person who has a purpose for every action. Since the knowledge is from Hell, maybe… the key also comes from there."

After speaking, Little Bruce's gaze drifted towards the bottom of the 'Mountain Books'.
