Chương 19: Father Versus Son (Part 2)

"Ackk!" Reylin exclaimed as a splatter of blood spurted out of his back and flew into the air.

He tripped forward even more before quickly turning around. Raising his sword in front of him, he faced Sol while panting. Beads of sweat dropped off of his forehead, and his hands shook slightly.

'Impossible! How is this happening!? I may not be using any Ether Energy, but I have trained my sword mastery from childhood!' Reylin was at a loss for how Sol managed to land that hit on him.

'I attacked while taking his parry into consideration, but he somehow moved his body in a way where he could attack me before I could recounter. Just what kind of training did this boy do!?'

As if Sol could read Reylin's mind, he mused exactly what he did to land that attack.

'Using your blade as an extension of your own body is something that most swordsmen do not learn to do. There's no way a normal swordsman would have been able to land that attack just now if they didn't practice to become one with the blade.'

"Damn it! I'm not holding back now!" Reylin said, slightly frustrated as he began to run at Sol again.

He slashed and swiped at the boy, being a bit more conservative with his force now to not be easily caught off balance by a parry.

Sol still easily deflected, parried, and dodged these attack attempts.

However, at times he felt his balance was slightly off. His blade was a bit too heavy at some points, and the handle too thick.

Although his sword skill was still that of a master, this new body came with many limitations.

His sword didn't go exactly where he wanted it to, as it felt almost double as long as it usually would.

Still, defeating Reylin wasn't going to pose as a challenge. Parrying another attack, Sol pounced forward, unleashing 10 swift thrusts at Reylin's torso.

Sol's technique was nearly flawless, but his speed wasn't up to par.

Reylin was able to defend against all of these attacks. This raised his confidence, making him perform a more risky attack.

Raising his sword up above his head, he drove it down toward the boy.

To Sol, the blade moved as slow as a snail, yet, he still couldn't dodge it.

'What a pathetic feeling.' He thought to himself--his hunger for power getting even more relentless.

His current body was too slow to move, but he didn't need to do so here.

In fact, this was his plan all along, to make Reylin make an overconfident move.

'Many times in battle, a swordsman's worst enemy is his own blade, which makes it impossible for him to get out of many tough situations.' He thought to himself, as he suddenly threw his blade up into the air.

As it spun, he turned his body to the side at an angle, avoiding the blade of the sword which came mere inches from his face.

Reylin's expression gnarled as he noticed this, "Not yet!" He exclaimed under his breath, moving the sword whilst in the middle of his attack to the side.

Instead of traveling down, it now headed directly for Sol's face.

Reylin had completely forgotten that Sol was a child, his own child to be even more clear.

The fight that Sol had given him made him believe that his opponent was a dangerous martial master he must commit his all in order to defeat.

The relationship between child and son was no longer. Now, it was purely life and death.

Despite Reylin's desperate expression, however, Sol remained as calm as a sloth.

In a swift maneuver, he whipped his entire body backward 90 degrees, making himself parallel with the ground for a split second.

As Reylin's blade flew over him, Sol's Flame Sword landed back in his hand.

He rose up, lunging at Reylin's back as he jumped onto his shoulders and placed his sword at the man's neck.

His blade sliced a millimeter of Reylin's neck, causing a drop of blood to slowly trickle down his chest.

Reylin halted at that moment, panting heavily as if he had just run a marathon. His eyes looked downwards at Sol's blade, as his own sword dropped and clanged on the ground.

"I give up... you win." He said, utterly defeated.

Uri gasped in shock, her mouth agape and her hand covering her face.

Etos couldn't believe what he just saw. The same went for Crya. Seeing their father lose like this was one of the most humiliating, heart-wrenching scenes they had ever witnessed.

More than that though, they were simply bewildered by the boy named Sol.

"You actually allowed him to spill your blood! The blood of Von Cillion! Even if it was a duel... how could you disgrace our family name like this by letting an outsider do this to you!?" Uri suddenly screamed in shock and anger.

Sol jumped off from the man's shoulders, slashing his sword in the air to clean it of blood before sheathing it.

"Woman..." Reylin said in a low, yet furious tone.

Uri leaned back, gulping in fear.

"He's also a Von Cillion," Reylin said, staring directly at Uri's face.

Uri gasped accidentally, but couldn't find any words to say, as she was too horrified to speak at that moment.

Reylin picked his sword back up and sheathed it. Facing the ground, he exited the training grounds.

"Uri!" He shouted behind his back, "This house is your's from today onwards until either the day that I return or the day that I die."

"W-what?!" Uri exclaimed in confusion, "What are you saying!? Where are you going?"

Reylin continued walking and didn't look back, "Seclusion. I am a man, yet I lost to a child in a fair battle. I do not deserve to call myself a man with such a background."

"Don't tell me!" Uri said as if she knew what Reylin was going to say.

"I'm exiting the Sanctuary! Don't try to find me. I have been considering this for a long time as it is, and today has finally given me a reason to do it."

As he said this, he disappeared into the mansion.

Sol turned toward the three shocked little pigs. "Hm... it's unfortunate for him that he had to face me of all 'children', pahaha!" He laughed wholeheartedly out of nowhere.

Uri looked at him with eyes seething in hatred, "You! You will not leave this place alive!"

"Oh? And who's going to kill me? You? Pfft! Don't make me laugh, silly bitch." Sol turned around, walking out the way Reylin went.

"Argh!" Uri exclaimed in frustration, "Don't think you can ever enter this house again!" She screamed.

"What!? You're just going to let him off without any punishment!?" Etos retorted, surprised by his mother's words.

"What else can I do!? Are you going to go kill him yourself? Did you not see what he did to your father!?" Uri raised her voice, taking Etos aback slightly.

His eyes teared up, never having heard such harsh words from his mother.

Noticing this, Uri quickly knelt down and apologized, before turning to Sol once again, "You hear me?!"

"Yeah yeah! I don't need your help anyway. Why would I want the assistance of a fly when conquering the sky?"
