Alden instantly stored his swords away and brought out the tier 4 defensive formation and tier 2 sword formation. 

He supplied the two array disks with spiritual energy, activating the formations. 

The dome of the defensive formation enveloped him and his friends while the seven swords of the sword formation circled the dome from outside. 

"Move!" Alden roared. 

Everyone moved together, advancing toward the academy.

Clang! Clang!

The sound of clashes rang as the spiders attacked the dome, but the energy swords circling the dome repelled them. 

Storm, the only beast outside the dome, also helped stop the spiders from approaching it. 

However, to maintain the barrier, Alden needed to supply his spiritual energy. The defensive dome didn't require much spiritual energy, but the seven-energy swords did.
