When Calix began to drive again once the light turned green, he said, "Don't fret too much over it, Leslie. It's just one of my silly talking."

His voice broke the momentary silence, bringing her back to reality.

Pursing her lips, Leslie quietly looked at Calix's side profile. His countenance had returned to normal, showing no hints of anger or frustration. His tone also was mellow like usual.

"For you to keep thinking about it... surely it's not silly talking," Leslie replied weakly. She screwed the thermal flask lid before putting it back into the paper bag.

Calix's lips curled up. He pulled the steering to the left, maneuvering his car to enter an intersection. His eyes remained on the road as he responded.

"I've come to terms with it. If I let it interfere with my life, wouldn't it be a waste? Coming out of a coma means having a second chance to live, Leslie. No need to cut my joy away by overthinking."
