Chương 47: Another Way

At 9 AM, Elon finished his rigorous morning workout, drenched in sweat. He returned to his quarters for a shower and prepared a voluminous breakfast of scrambled eggs with glass noodles. His routine was set: rise at six, train his body, sense magnetic lines, control magnetic fields, and practice manipulating electricity for three solid hours. The rest of his time was devoted to absorbing vast amounts of knowledge, with evenings reserved for reflection on everything, especially any matters concerning Wells.

Cisco, as if guided by a hound's nose, was already banging on Elon's door, lured by the aroma of freshly cooked eggs and noodles.

"Elon, open up! I can smell it from here," Cisco exclaimed.

Elon opened the door, and Cisco barged in, exclaiming with glee, "Perfect timing! You've made my favorite dish, Elon. I can't thank you enough. I'll help myself!"

"What! That's my breakfast. Go back to your Big Belly Burger," Elon protested.

Ignoring Elon, Cisco made himself at home in the kitchen, loading his plate with a generous portion of the egg-noodle mix and devouring it with gusto.

Elon, somewhat annoyed, poured two glasses of milk and handed one to Cisco. While eating, Cisco pulled out a sleek, brandless silver phone.

"Elon, I customized this phone just for you. It's magnet-proof, insulated, and heat-resistant. You can carry it without worry. And remember, let me know when you're having meals. I've set up your contacts – I'm the first on the list. Always inform me about meals. By the way, what's your favorite color?"

"Black," Elon replied, examining the lightweight phone, the size of an iPhone 5, with a few apps installed, including some of Cisco's own communication tools and a downloaded Facebook app.

In less than three minutes, Cisco had polished off his share of the breakfast, patted his belly contentedly, and left Elon's place, the entire visit lasting less than five minutes.

Ten minutes after Cisco's departure, Elon finished his breakfast and washed up. His phone rang; it was Cisco again.

"Elon, I got so caught up in the noodles, I forgot to tell you – Dr. Wells is looking for you in the main hall control room."

Puzzled by Wells' summons and unable to discern the reason, Elon made his way to the control room.

Wells was there, manipulating satellite data on the main computer.

"Elon, you're here. Last night's dinner was delightful. I look forward to more," Wells reminisced, still impressed by the Eastern culinary experience that had expanded his palate beyond burgers, pizzas, and fries.

"Tonight we'll continue. I'll cook every evening, but tonight you'll need to learn to use chopsticks," Elon proposed.

Wells beamed, "Oh, I'll practice using chopsticks then. I wouldn't want to miss out on the feast."

At that moment, Caitlin strolled into the control room, overhearing their conversation.

"I can't pretend I didn't hear that. You know, I absolutely despise when staff bribe their superiors with food," she said playfully.

"Alright, Caitlin, you better brush up on your chopstick skills too, or you'll miss out tonight," Elon warned.

"OK, I'm off to buy chopsticks and practice right away," Caitlin said with a triumphant smile, grabbing some paperwork and exiting the control room.

Wells watched Caitlin leave with a smile, turning to Elon, "Ever since you arrived, Caitlin's been smiling a lot more."

"Do you think so? I hadn't noticed. Anyway, Dr. Wells, what did you need to see me for?" Elon inquired.

Wells, as if suddenly remembering his original purpose, said, "Ah, the food talk made me forget the matter at hand."

He handed Elon a USB drive. "In 1951, an alien spacecraft crashed in Redmond, Oregon. The U.S. government extracted a lot of data from the ship, some of it encrypted alien information I've recently decoded. It's research on using a new singularity to create and stabilize a wormhole, which could potentially help you."

"This data might fulfill your wish. The hardest part, I believe, is creating a new singularity. An uncontrollable singularity could destroy the world, so my idea is to neutralize the gravitational field of the singularity using negative mass, stabilizing the wormhole. If you can pinpoint your world, you could use the wormhole to return the moment it opens, then disrupt the gravitational field with high energy to prevent the singularity from causing any harm. This way, you get home safely without destroying this world."

Elon was shocked, holding the USB in disbelief. He knew from the show that if things proceeded as Wells described, the finale of season one would indeed feature a singularity, a wormhole created by Eddie's suicide and Wells' erasure from the timeline, leading to a black hole. Elon could potentially use this black hole to create a wormhole back to his world.

Wells shook his head with a feigned sadness, "Unfortunately, man-made black holes aren't true black holes. They lack the gravity to 'swallow' everything around them like a real black hole. They only exhibit black hole properties in terms of sound. Such a black hole cannot create an internal wormhole."

Internally, Wells sneered. The information he had given Elon was partially altered and incorrect, though the principal direction of the theory was sound. It would take a century or more in this 'primitive era' to create a usable singularity.

Elon's eyes glistened with unshed tears, deeply moved by Wells' gesture.

"Dr. Wells, I can't thank you enough," Elon said, his voice choked with emotion. He was genuinely touched – the technology of the day might not be able to create a real black hole, but the events of the season one finale provided a sliver of hope. This unexpected act of kindness from the Reverse-Flash was overwhelming.

Wells matched Elon's display of gratitude, "The particle accelerator explosion that brought you here is partly my fault. I hope this information helps you get home."

As they exchanged heartfelt thanks, Barry arrived, looking rather uneasy.

"Dr. Wells, I need Elon's help," Barry said, cutting through the emotional atmosphere.
