Yang Shen's Qi dissipated again, leaving no trace as he moved undetected. In moments, he arrived at Thriller Bark.
As expected, Moria had followed his advice. Instead of raising a zombie army, he had been training his Haki and honing his Devil Fruit abilities. Arias's sudden appearance startled Moria.
"Master Arias! What brings you here?" Moria asked, his voice trembling as though he had seen a ghost. Arias had appeared without any warning.
"I need you to do something for me," Arias replied, wasting no time. He released Garp from the capsule, causing Moria's eyes to widen in shock. "Garp? The Marine hero, Garp?"
The legendary Marine Vice Admiral, known for his strength, was now in front of him, under Arias's control.
"Cut out his shadow and give it to me," Arias commanded, not interested in any explanations.
Moria, not daring to question Arias, used the power of his Shadow-Shadow Fruit to sever Garp's shadow, handing it to Arias.
Holding the shadow, Arias asked, "Can this shadow be placed into something else?"
Moria shook his head. "No, I have to do it myself. It's part of the Shadow-Shadow Fruit's abilities—it only works on corpses, not on other objects."
Arias frowned. The process had limitations, but it wasn't insurmountable. Handing the shadow back to Moria, he instructed, "Keep this for now. Also, when the Marines realize Garp's shadow is missing, they'll come after you. Be ready to relocate."
Moria was stunned. "But where should I go?" he asked, knowing the truth of Arias's warning.
"Go to the New World. I'll make arrangements for you," Arias said, planning to integrate Moria into the underground world.
He then returned Garp to the capsule. "Give me your strongest corpses," Arias demanded.
Reluctantly, Moria handed over the corpses of Oars, Jigoro, Ryuma, and Captain John, each one a powerful warrior in life. Arias collected the corpses and dissolved into Qi, vanishing as quietly as he had come.
Returning Garp's body to his hospital bed in Marineford, Arias's consciousness re-entered his own body. He inspected the capsule containing the corpses, intending to use them to construct a new flesh-and-blood form for the doll he was creating. This form would then house Garp's shadow.
The corpses needed processing first. Using both hands and his mystical machinery, Arias began extracting the purest essence of flesh and blood from them. Oars was too large to deal with immediately, so he focused on the others.
On the operating table, Arias's hands emitted a red light, turning the corpses into small orbs of flesh, no larger than a washbasin. In each orb, a heart began to beat slowly, reanimated by a fusion with a life stone. Blood vessels sprouted from the heart, making the flesh appear disturbingly vibrant.
Each orb represented one of the fallen warriors: Jigoro, Ryuma, and Captain John.
As dawn broke, Hancock, who had been watching in amazement, arranged a bed in the workshop to rest. Arias, however, was far from finished. Drawing his sword, he set off for South Blue.
In the South Blue Kingdom, Big Bear had stayed up all night, anxiously awaiting Arias's arrival. The thought of curing Ginny's terminal illness was the only thing on his mind.
"Big Bear, it's okay if I can't be cured," Ginny said weakly. Her hair had fallen out, her head now covered in green jade scales that even weighed down her eyelids. She struggled to breathe, her consciousness fading.
She could still hear the cry of a baby—Bonney, hungry in her arms. But even her breasts were covered in scales, preventing her from feeding Bonney.
Hearing Bonney's cries, Big Bear quickly boiled some milk, cooled it, and fed it to her little by little with a spoon. Ginny had told him many times that it was okay if she couldn't be cured, but Big Bear always responded gently, "I will cure you and Bonney. Don't worry."
As he fed Bonney, a knock came at the door.
Big Bear's heart leaped with joy. "Ginny, your savior is here! This time, you will be cured!"
After putting down the milk, Ginny tried to take it to feed Bonney, but she was too weak to do anything. Little Bonney was left without milk, but Big Bear's priority was Ginny's treatment. Feeding could wait.
Opening the door, Big Bear saw Arias standing there. "Mr. Arias, can you really treat Ginny?"
Arias nodded and entered the room. The space was clean, carefully maintained by Big Bear. On the bed lay Ginny, whose condition was worsening, and Bonney, crying loudly.
"Take her to feed Bonney first. I'll start treating Ginny," Arias instructed. Jade Scales was a terminal illness, and even with his mystical hands, the treatment would take ten hours.
Big Bear quickly carried Bonney out of the bedroom and closed the door.
"Are you the one who led the rescue?" Ginny asked weakly. "What did Big Bear have to give up?"
She wasn't entirely unaware. She knew how severe Jade Scales was—one famous doctor had demanded five billion in medical expenses, angering Long. The man before her wouldn't treat her for nothing. Big Bear must have paid a steep price behind her back, a price she didn't want him to pay. Her condition was terminal—no one in the world could cure her.
"Big Bear promised to leave the Revolutionary Army and join me," Arias said with a smile. "So treating you is just a benefit I'm offering my new employee."
Ginny coughed weakly. "No, that's impossible. Big Bear wouldn't leave the Revolutionary Army! You're lying to me!"
Arias spread his hands. "Believe what you want. You can ask Big Bear yourself."
"And why shouldn't Big Bear leave the Revolutionary Army? I can offer him more than they can. I can do what they do and more! My goal is also to overthrow the World Government and eliminate all the Celestial Dragons!"
His tone grew intense, but he softened it with a smile. "If you want to join me too, you're welcome. But for now, let's focus on your treatment."
