Ancient Saint Green's expression was grim as he stamped on the ground. Even he couldn't easily destroy the hard seastone floor.
"What kind of ability does this person possess?" he muttered to himself. "How can they burrow through seastone?"
He pulled out a phone transponder from his coat and dialed a number:
"Beep... beep... beep..."
"This is Ancient Saint Green. Someone has infiltrated Mariejois' treasure house. Seal off Mariejois immediately and conduct a city-wide search!"
After ending the call, he didn't pursue the intruder further but instead checked the treasure house to see what had been taken.
"The antiques are still here."
"The gems and pearls are all accounted for."
"The gold remains untouched."
"Some meteorite and other mineral materials are missing."
"All the Devil Fruits are gone!"
He stood in the smaller palace hall where the Devil Fruits had been stored. Now, the area was completely empty.
"Was the Devil Fruit the target all along?" Ancient Saint Green mused as he walked out of the treasure house.
The old guard at the door saluted again, "Old Saint Green, did you catch the intruder?"
Ancient Saint Green shook his head, "He escaped."
"Escaped?" Saint Montgomery was bewildered. Who could escape under the watch of Lord Green Ancient?
Moreover, he hadn't seen anyone exit!
"Sir, I failed in my duty!" Saint Montgomery immediately dropped to one knee. "Please punish me!"
Ancient Saint Green glanced at him and said calmly, "It's not your fault. The enemy can burrow underground. Get up."
He stood silently at the entrance of the palace, contemplating the black-clad intruder who had just fought him in the treasure house.
The intruder could escape a blockade—could Mariejois truly capture them?
The Holy Land was sealed off, and all the guards began conducting a city-wide investigation. The Celestial Dragons who were killed by Arias were soon discovered, escalating the situation.
Stealing treasure was one thing, but killing a Celestial Dragon was an unforgivable crime to the world's nobles.
The Five Elders convened to discuss the matter.
Saint Vauchuuri was livid. He slammed his palm on the table and snarled, "A dignified Celestial Dragon, invaded and killed at Mariejois? This thief has committed an atrocity worse than Roger's! We must capture him and execute him publicly!"
Saint Maz spoke in a measured tone, "But according to what Ancient Saint Green reported, this man can escape easily. How do we catch him?"
Saint Vauchuuri replied, "Didn't Ancient Saint Green fight him? Let him describe the intruder's appearance, and we'll issue a worldwide manhunt!"
"Moreover, even if he can burrow underground, he cannot evade the perception of high-level Observation Haki. Send all Admiral-level forces from the Marines to hunt him down!"
The order was sent to Marineford.
Kong, the current Fleet Admiral, was no longer as relaxed as before, and his expression was grave as he set down the transponder.
"Sengoku," he called.
Admiral Sengoku immediately appeared, saluting smartly.
"Take a team to Mariejois at once. An intruder has infiltrated the Holy Land, stolen treasures, and killed a Celestial Dragon!"
Sengoku was taken aback. "Infiltrate the Holy Land? Kill a Celestial Dragon? Who would dare?"
"Whitebeard? Charlotte Linlin? Kaido? The Revolutionary Army?"
"But we haven't detected any unusual activity from them recently. Could it be Shanks?"
Sengoku asked a series of questions, but Kong shook his head.
"No, Ancient Saint Green engaged the intruder, but they escaped. However, Ancient Saint Green saw their face and is working on a wanted poster."
"Also, according to him, this thief can burrow into the ground, even through seastone. Their body is incredibly tough, almost inhuman. When leading your troops, ensure to use Observation Haki for detection."
Kong relayed the information provided by the World Government.
"The Five Elders have ordered all Marine generals to participate in the hunt. But with so few of us left at headquarters, I can't leave. You'll have to go."
Admiral-level combat power isn't limited to the Admirals alone. It includes Marshal Kong, Admiral Sengoku, Vice Admirals Akainu, Kizaru, Aokiji, Garp, and those like former Admiral Zephyr who have retired from frontline duty.
But with Kizaru and Aokiji tracking down thieves, Akainu engaged with the Revolutionary Army, Garp injured, and Zephyr focused on training the next generation, Marineford was short on available forces.
Sengoku pondered Kong's words. "He can escape? How are we supposed to find him if we don't even know which direction he went?"
"And if he could sneak into the Holy Land so easily, he's likely the one who stole the treasures from those three kingdoms recently."
Connecting the dots, Sengoku speculated, "He might've stolen those treasures first to force us to spread our forces thin, then took the opportunity to infiltrate the Holy Land."
"Even the Revolutionary Army intelligence we received might've been a diversion to keep us busy!"
Sengoku cursed. "That damn Dragon! Can't he give us a break?"
Kong replied, "Let's discuss that later. For now, lead the troops and secure the Holy Land."
Sengoku took his orders and departed.
In the Holy Land, Arias hadn't left immediately. His battle with Ancient Saint Green had taken a toll on his body. Without repairs, he wouldn't be able to get far.
But there were no tools to repair weapons here, making self-repair difficult.
Then, he had an idea: what if the puppet consumed a Devil Fruit?
This could grant him the ability to repair himself, similar to how Spandam's elephant sword gained a degree of self-awareness and could attack autonomously.
However, the technology to make objects consume Devil Fruits was a closely guarded secret of the World Government, developed by Vegapunk.
Fortunately, this was the Holy Land, and the Celestial Dragons might have access to such technology.
Emerging from a luxurious palace, the guards failed to detect him due to his Phantom Body Barrier.
He strolled leisurely through halls and living rooms until he finally heard voices.
"Disgusting creature! Spit it out already!"
A man's irritated voice rang out, followed by the crack of a whip.
Arias quietly entered through a door crack, where he saw a bizarre-looking figure being berated.
