Chương 21: Just The New Basketball Star.
Once again, it was time for the weekly mandatory sports club that all Crimson High students were forced to participate in.
Today, however, Xavian was not the same old weakling he was a week ago.
He ran as fast as Jack Jockey, the Crimson High basketball team captain famous for scoring all the goals in every game.
Seizing the ball, he used all his strength to throw the ball into the hoop, breaking it, and scoring a goal for the first time in history.
"Anton?" Coach Jack called out to him with his name, which was unusual as he was called "Blondie" or "Yellow Turd" whenever he performed badly.
"Er, I'm sorry for the hoop?"
Xavian replied. He was scared that he would be kicked out of the team and would have to be allocated a new club far away from his only friend.
Coach Jack laughed.
"What are you yappin' about, boy?, you did GREAT!!, you actually beat Jockey in a practice match!.
This way, we got the upcoming match this evening in the bag!
Xavian Anton, you're on the team".
Most had shown a displeasure at the prospect of Xavian, a rookie first year senior, play along with them third years. But they could not do anything as the coach had decreed.
Xavian had played the match, and with his new speed, strength, stamina and along with the enhanced stats, he performed wonders on the pitch.
By the end of the match, they had won the match by a margin of 10 to 4
Nine of the ten being scored by Xavian alone.
Leaving the match, Jack Just had approached Xavian.
"You did good, dude"
Jack was a fellow tall blonde boy, he had a perfect oval face and was very nice and friendly.
However, he was not a pushover and when push came to shove, he could protect himself. He was even one of the reasons that the famous students were not targeted or bullied... At least too much.
"Yeah...I did"
Xavian replied.
It was nice to be praised for a change.
