Chương 320: Chapter 320 : Credence 2

Credence stood in the shadowy alley, his face tense as he looked at the man in front of him—Percival Graves. Or at least, that's what he believed his name was. The man had promised him so much—magic, answers, and the hope of finding his real family. But something didn't sit right with him anymore. Especially after what John (Orion) told him.

And though even Orion didn't know of this but his wariness towards this man was on point. Becuase this person, Percival Graves was none other than Grindelwald.

Grindelwald, disguised as Graves, studied Credence carefully. His patience was wearing thin. "You haven't found the child yet, Credence," he said, his tone sharp. "I need you to find the wizard among the children in that orphanage. Only then can I help you, like I promised."

Credence clenched his fists. He had searched tirelessly for months now, watching every child closely, trying to figure out who this magical child could be. But there was no one. And ever since his brief encounter with Orion, doubts had been creeping into his mind.

"I've looked," Credence said, his voice shaky but determined. "But there's no one like that at the orphanage. No one with magic."

Grindelwald's eyes flashed with irritation. "You're not looking hard enough!" he almost snapped. "The child himself didn't know about his powers, it will be harder to find him yes but you just need to try harder."

Credence shifted uncomfortably, then dared to ask the question that had been gnawing at him. "If you know magic," he began cautiously, "why can't you find him yourself? Why do you need me to do it?"

Grindelwald's face twitched with anger, but he quickly masked it, his voice turning smooth again. "Magic is... tricky," he said, waving his hand dismissively. "The child's magic is different, unpredictable. You're closer to them, you can sense it better than I can."

But Credence wasn't satisfied with the vague explanation. He felt a knot forming in his chest, tightening with each of Graves' words. Orion had told him to trust his instincts, and right now, they were screaming at him that something was wrong.

"You said you'd help me," Credence said, more firmly now. "You said you'd teach me magic and help me find my family. But all you want is for me to do your work."

Grindelwald's eyes narrowed dangerously, but he forced a smile. "I will help you, Credence. But first, you need to help me. That's how these things work."

Credence felt a lump in his throat. The man's words didn't feel real anymore. Everything he had been promised felt like a lie. He took a step back, his eyes wary. "And what if... what if I don't want to help you anymore?"

Grindelwald's smile disappeared, his voice now cold and threatening. "Then you will never find your family. You'll remain powerless, forgotten, while the others with magic rise above you."

Hearing this Credence who had a sudden surge of confidence and rebellious mentality died down. That was the only thing he was afraid of. The man knew about his family. If he doesn't tell him then how else he will find his family?

Orion stood in the middle of a vast desert, the hot wind whipping against his face. He had traveled far from any trace of civilization, knowing this was the perfect place to practice the Law of Matter without being disturbed. The sun blazed overhead, but Orion hardly noticed as he focused on the sand beneath his feet.

Stretching out his hand, he willed the tiny grains of sand to shift, gathering them together in a swirl. He could feel the power of the Law of Matter flowing through him, though this was long possible for him even before absorbing Morgana, what was hard was to completely change the atomic structure of a substance, allowing him to manipulate the particles at will. Slowly, the sand began to change, turning translucent and then into water, clear and shimmering in the heat. It trickled down into a small pool at his feet, glistening in the sunlight.

Next, Orion turned the water into ice, watching as it solidified instantly, the once blistering sand now cold and frozen. Satisfied, he shifted his focus again, turning the ice into cement, letting it spread and harden in the air. Another interesting thing that he realized that to even turn something into another thing, he at least need to have basic knowledge about that substance, like the atomic structure of sand to know what he has to do to make it into water and whatever. Its possible to do it without knowing this but it was harder.

He moved his hands in careful motions, directing the cement to rise and form walls, crafting the outline of a small building.

With a flick of his wrist, he made more intricate changes, sculpting the cement into detailed statues, each one more precise than the last. He created towering figures, intricate patterns etched into their surfaces, all born from the same sand that had once been scattered at his feet.

Orion stood back for a moment, admiring his work.

"Alright, nothing compared to what Morgana was capable of but this is indeed much better than any random Transfiguration spell."

Structures and statues surrounded him, all crafted by the manipulation of matter. The power felt natural to him now, as if the elements of the earth were simply another tool at his command. He closed his eyes, feeling the connection between himself and the matter around him, understanding more deeply how the world could be reshaped through the Law of Matter.

He turned the statues back to sand, the buildings crumbling and dissolving as though they had never existed. Orion smiled to himself. This was only the beginning.

Now he wonder what is possible if only he use both Law of Matter and Law of Space together.

He can't help but feel excited.
