Chương 43: Being High On Pill (chapter 43)

prevously in chapter 42

Henry walked through his hideout with newfound purpose, each step deliberate and confident. The first stop was his workstation, where his AI, Kai, monitored various systems. "Kai, let's optimize the drone schematics," he commanded. His voice was crisp, brimming with clarity and authority.

{Understood, sir. What parameters shall we prioritize?} Kai responded, its tone respectful and efficient.

"Speed, stealth, and adaptability," Henry replied, already envisioning the modifications. He began to sketch out designs at a frenetic pace, his hands moving faster than ever before. He adjusted the aerodynamics, enhanced the sensory arrays, and integrated advanced cloaking technology. Each improvement was a stroke of genius, a testament to his heightened cognitive abilities.

Chapter 43

Hours seemed to pass in mere moments as he moved from one project to another. He upgraded the AI's algorithms, making Kai more intuitive and capable of independent thought. The drones were redesigned to be more efficient, with better battery life and enhanced combat capabilities. Henry felt like a conductor orchestrating a symphony of technological marvels.

The Limitless Elixir coursed through his system, fueling his creativity and problem-solving skills. Every challenge was met with a solution, every obstacle with an innovation. He felt a profound sense of accomplishment, yet he was far from done.

Henry's attention then turned to his Hammer Droid, a robust but somewhat clunky machine he had been meaning to upgrade. The concept of redesigning it into a sleek, compact suit of armor formed in his mind. He envisioned an exosuit that would not only enhance his physical abilities but also integrate seamlessly with his alchemical skills.

He set to work, dismantling the Hammer Droid piece by piece, again. The once cumbersome machinery was stripped down to its core components. Henry's hands moved with precision, guided by his enhanced intellect. He laid out the new blueprints, his mind calculating every angle, every joint, and every circuit with mathematical precision.

The new design was a marvel of engineering. The armor was sleek, with interlocking plates that provided maximum protection while allowing for full mobility. Advanced servos and hydraulic systems were integrated into the limbs, amplifying his strength. The helmet featured a sophisticated HUD, capable of providing real-time data and enhancing his situational awareness.

Henry worked tirelessly, his focus unbroken. He refined the armor's internal systems, ensuring that it would be both durable and adaptable. The suit was designed to interface directly with his neural network, responding to his thoughts and commands with lightning speed.

However, he soon realized that the armor required a power source far beyond anything he currently had. With his Essence Extraction skill, he could create a new power source, but that would be a task for another day. For now, the blueprints were complete, and they were nothing short of revolutionary.

Henry stepped back, admiring his work. The exosuit was a testament to his genius, a fusion of cutting-edge technology and alchemical prowess. He felt a surge of pride and satisfaction. The Limitless Elixir had unlocked new heights of creativity and intellect, allowing him to achieve what once seemed impossible.

Exhausted but exhilarated, Henry finally allowed himself a moment of rest as the Limitless Elixir potion's timer ran out. He surveyed his surroundings, which had changed, especially the brand new drones. There were ten of them, much sleeker and smaller than the previous bulky ant recon drones. They were now the same size as a small rat. "Maybe I should rename them to rat recon drones," he chuckled to himself as he inspected one of them. He was planning on making them even smaller, as small as an ant, which would probably take several more hours of studying and several more Limitless potions. "But I can make them in bulk or in pill forms. That might actually be a good idea," he mused to himself as he stretched.

Only then did he realize something. "Fuck," he cursed, realizing he had gotten so sidetracked that he forgot his initial task. The excitement he felt from having his mind expanded was so immense that he forgot his main goal, which was to figure out why his Super Soldier Serum and Extremis wouldn't fuse. "I have to pop more," he sighed as he did just that. Despite feeling tired, he had to take another to figure out his problem. What followed next were hours and hours of continuous work, thinking, and getting sidetracked by too many ideas before returning to the main task. During those 100 minutes, Henry figured out some problems that were bugging him, such as a potential location for his new hideout as well as his vault.

Yes, a vault. A place so secure that the only way to even get in there was to have previously been inside and then teleport inside. It shouldn't even be known that there was anything hidden anywhere near the vault. He found just the place for it, designed a blueprint for the vault, and even designed an unbreakable system for the place. These were all just blueprints, but the highlight of the day was that, although he had yet to succeed in making a Tier 6 potion, he had figured out a way to stabilize the unstable Super Soldier Serum first, which was difficult in its own right. But that was not the only case. He also figured out another vault of S.H.I.E.L.D., which contained a box with no name, something that S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't want to acknowledge was there to begin with, and that had Henry stoked. He devised a way to get inside the place, and he did all of this by hacking into S.H.I.E.L.D. Yes, S.H.I.E.L.D., which led to him finding out that S.H.I.E.L.D. has academies for training young agents.

This made sense given their scale of operation, but that wasn't it. Even with his enhanced cognitive ability, S.H.I.E.L.D. was still able to fend him off, which spoke measures of the kind of power S.H.I.E.L.D. had. Truly witnessing their scale of power made Henry realize just how unprepared he was for a full-on attack from S.H.I.E.L.D. "What the hell have I been doing?" he asked himself as he leaned back in his chair. The reason S.H.I.E.L.D. hadn't caught him after all this time and despite the things he had done was because he wasn't big or dangerous enough to garner their full attention, which hurt his pride. But then an idea popped into his mind.

"This is actually good. If they continue to undermine me, then I can continue to slowly raid their stashes of Super Soldier Serum and other stuff they have collected over the years." Thinking positively, Henry immediately became happy with himself and then got back to work, consuming the Tier 4 Limitless potions he made and continuously working on improving everything. That was until his nose bled, profusely at that. It turns out taking multiple brain-stimulating drugs really isn't that good, which led to Henry fainting, giving Terry the best day of his life.
