Mrs. Chow and Michele Keith stood up, both clueless and panic flashing in their eyes.
It was clear that neither of them expected William Cole to appear so suddenly.
With a blushing face, Mrs. Chow confessed in embarrassment, "We couldn't pay the rent, and we got kicked out by the landlord."
"Since it's the summer-autumn season, it's not too cold outside. We can just make do here for one night."
William Cole replied sternly, "Absolutely not!"
Mrs. Chow panicked, "Dr. Cole, rest assured, we will not cause any delay to your work tomorrow morning."
"Please don't fire me, I can stay farther away, and I promise not to give anyone any reason to gossip about Thirteen Hall."
She abruptly got up and moved towards her luggage.
William was taken aback, his heart feeling heavy.
He was familiar with this cautious feeling of dependence on others. He empathized deeply.
He quickly stepped forward and held onto Mrs. Chow's luggage, "Mrs. Chow, you misunderstood my intention."
