That powerful aura was suffocating and intimidating, it made one dare not breathe freely.

"Sit across me." He ordered with a deep voice.

His tone was dominant, allowing no room for defiance.

Xia Liyou had just been through a big fight and didn't want to stir up more trouble for the moment, so she had to bow her head, stand up, change her seat and sit across from him.

Seeing her obediently doing as he said, the tension in Ou Chengtian's demeanor slightly eased.

The table was already set with a midnight snack prepared by the butler's wife. It was a simple meal of rice porridge and dishes, and it looked particularly appetizing.

Having been hungry all day, Xia Liyou didn't feel anything special initially. However, upon seeing the food, she inevitably built up an appetite.

She picked up the chopsticks, ready to pick up some food when her face was suddenly covered by a warm hand.

The temperature of his palm, warmly inviting, startled Xia Liyou making her shrink back.

It had been two years, and she was still not accustomed to his sudden touches.

Ou Chengtian examined the fingerprints on her face, which had faded a bit from before. Judging from the shape of the fingerprints, it appeared to be struck by a woman.

The fact that a woman was able to leave a mark on her face for so long must mean that she put a lot of effort into it.

Ou Chengtian's eyes narrowed slightly, reflecting a dangerous glint, sending a chill down the spine of Xia Liyou, even as she kept her head down.

Her heart pounded relentlessly, over and over again, incredibly strong, she knew it was the rhythm brought on by anxiety.

Luckily, after Ou Chengtian's brief inspection, he withdrew his hand.

Just as Xia Liyou was feeling relieved about him withdrawing his hand, a soft and tender object touched her face.

Raising her head in surprise, she met those dangerously compelling eyes, the piercing stare was making one involuntarily shudder.

Knowing that Xia Liyou was looking at him, Ou Chengtian deliberately softened his gaze, making himself seem as gentle as possible.

"This is an egg, it will make your face feel better." He spoke slowly and gently, afraid to frighten her.

His gentleness, his tyranny, were all dependent on her reactions, a word, or a simple glance.

He was switching back and forth, it was very exhausting, but what could he do? Xia Liyou just had that ability.

Xia Liyou stared at him for a while before whispering softly, "I can do it myself."

Having said that, she stretched out her hand to take the egg, but what she touched was not what she intended, it was Ou Chengtian's hand.

Subconsciously, she wanted to retract her hand, but noticed Ou Chengtian's expression change, his gaze warningly glared at her, suggesting that if she didn't put her hand back, she would be in for trouble.

After hesitating for a while, finally, Xia Liyou put her hand, that she had just withdrawn a tiny bit, back on his hand.

He looked at her with satisfaction, allowing her hand to rest on his broad palm, moving back and forth in accordance with the movements of his hand.

"Can you not eat with your other hand? Do you want me to feed you?" Seeing Xia Liyou just mechanically following his hand movement while leaving her other hand idle on the table motionless, Ou Chengtian frowned and asked.

Xia Liyou quickly responded, "No need."

Then she picked up her chopsticks and started to eat.

Although eating like this felt strange, Xia Liyou didn't dare to say anything more. She just wished for this moment to pass quickly.

Therefore, she ate very quickly, even choked because she was eating the porridge too fast.

Seeing her rush, Ou Chengtian frowned even more, "Are you that hungry? Why eat so fast? Didn't you eat during the day?"

The movement of Xia Liyou wiping her mouth paused, she raised her eyes to look at him, but it was just a glance before she lowered her head again.

She was scared, his piercing gaze seemed to see through her thoughts.

If he knew that she wanted to end all this quickly, she feared, it would upset him again.

Since he asked, Xia Liyou decided to answer along his question, "I forgot to eat during the day."

She spoke the truth, she did inadvertently forget to eat during the day, which naturally made one think that she was eating so fast because she was too hungry, not because of other reasons.

Although Xia Liyou was trying her best to avoid displeasing Ou Chengtian, she also did not want to lie. Because she didn't like people who lie, she wouldn't allow herself to lie either.
