Oliver looked at Pentos from the ports and the city was quite good. Just not something that would impress him. At least it was better than King's Landing, but in his eyes, any place was better than something that smelled like shit.
"My Lord, where should we go? We need to plan the routes for your safety." asked one of the guards. Oliver smiled at him and pointed towards one of the places.
"We are going to the palace of Illyrio Mopatis," Oliver said casually as suddenly quarts came from within the city and the guards around Oliver immediately pulled out their swords.
"Who are you?" asked the head guard, someone who was in charge of the rest of the guards. - 'We are outnumbered. Why did they come here? If it develops into a fight, jumping with Lord Oliver in the sea and then leaving the rest to buy us some time would be the best move.'
The head guard was someone that Oliver made sure was skilled and very loyal. The man could even lead armies and be a great general, so he was very overqualified for the job and could make decisions on the fly. But even then, he was working for House Redhawk because they even pay guard captains better than any general in Essos would be paid.
Suddenly, the guards that had distinctive Pentosi clothing and armor got on one knee. "LORD REDHAWK! WELCOME TO PENTOS!"
There were almost a thousand guards and they had filled the whole port that was also a marketplace. This was pretty much a small army that when it was already inside Pentos, would be able to take over the whole city.
Oliver smiled, this was a small gesture of power. Normally he wouldn't reveal his cards like this, but he had a dragon to impress. "Stand down men. Let's go to Illyrio Mopatis' palace. We have a lot to…" he paused for a couple of seconds as he smiled goodnaturedly. "Let's say that we will learn quite a lot there."
...
At the same time, Daenerys and Semiramis were in front of an open vault that was filled with gold, jewels, and a box with three dragon eggs inside. Daenerys licked her lips once she saw this and sent a lustful look towards her "servant".
Semiramis smirked and pointed towards a corpse on the ground and had its throat gouged open. "What should we do with him?"
"He will be burned alive as a sacrifice," Daenerys concluded decisively, she bit her lip a little unsure about this. But Semiramis, the woman who had been with her for so long, hugged her from behind, which reassured the last known Targaryen. "Yes, I will do it. We need dragons to come into the world once again. That way, we can sit on the Iron Throne."
Semiramis misled and shook her head. "Your grace, don't you mean YOU sitting on the Iron Throne."
"Us…" Daenerys clarified once again. This caused the other woman to sigh and look at the corpse on the ground once again. It was Illyrio Mopatis, the merchant who had offered them his support.
But they already knew that the man didn't have honest intentions and killed him as soon as he had opened the vault. They weren't going to spare someone as dangerous as him.
Suddenly, someone started clapping. Daenerys and Semiramis looked behind them and saw a handsome silver-haired man, he seemed like the old Targaryens came alive. He wore armor with a red hawk sigil on his chest, and he was taller than normal men.
Semiramis could tell that he wasn't someone they should mess with. Not only did he seem like someone who knew how to use a sword, but even the Redhawk sigil was a giveaway that you shouldn't get involved with him. That family was known to kill people like a farmer sowing wheat, it was in their very blood, family, and heritage to kill people.
"Daenerys Targaryen, I must say, is quite a rare sight, especially her being with my sister," Oliver revealed a bomb right there. But he acted like it was nothing. He then looked at Semiramis, noticing her surprised look. "Don't tell me that you never questioned why the Redhawks helped you when you killed someone in Braavos. Especially Viserys Targaryen."
This time, it was Daenerys' turn to be surprised. She looked at her friend, who was also like family. "Is that true?"
Semiramis was having her own dilemma, and couldn't come up with a good lie. "Yes… I killed Viserys, he was a bothersome idiot that would end up killing us both. I told you that he was killed by someone so you wouldn't run away and get yourself killed."
"..." Daenerys didn't say anything and coldly stared at the person she used to trust the most in this world. Oliver observed all of the happenings from the sidelines with a mischievous look, as if he was watching a drama series.
"You can kill me if you want, I won't make excuses. I am sure that there are many people out there who can replace me as your guard. Also, I sold information about you to get some gold, that was how I was able to get the wealth we did." Semiramis told the truth and unsheathed her Valyrian dagger, offering it to her best friend.
"No can do," Oliver intervened on this as he had his arms folded and was leaning on the wall.
Daenerys married her eyes. "Do you dare tell me what I do with my retainers?"
Though her voice was calm, there was a hidden icy coldness behind her words. Oliver shrugged.
"No, of course not. But if you kill her, you aren't walking out of here alive," then his dark eyes turned murderous as he stared at Daenerys, "From me, and then all my men will all have our way with you, unimaginable tortures will be inflicted on you if you dare and kill my sister.
She has Redhawk blood in her, and whether you are a Queen or a street sweeper, everyone dances with the grim reaper."
They could see it in his eyes, Oliver fully meant what he said. No matter what, Daenerys wasn't walking out of here alive if she did anything to Semiramis. But the rightful queen smirked. "I will kill myself too before you can do anything."
"Then make sure to cut yourself good, because we have good doctors."
"..." she was left speechless, not used to dealing with people like him. But it wasn't like Daenerys ever planned to kill Semiramis. She knew about her spying but never said anything as she believed in the woman she cared for more than family and wouldn't ever do something that would harm her.
Daenerys would rather cut her own neck than kill Semiramis. Their trust had been tested and through everything. So something like this was small. The real problem here was Oliver, and how he was too forward and fierce. Even Daenerys knew just how powerful the Redhawk family was, and she needed their help.
But at the end of it all, they would be her subjects. Servants aren't supposed to threaten their liege's life. That was the unspoken rule that many people have died because of it. By now it had developed into a mind game, and Daenerys was familiar with such plays and learned a lot from Semiramis. It felt like Oliver was heaps and bounds better than her.
Now they were at a stalemate and Daenerys knew that if she didn't do something now. She would never have the chance to do it again. So she walked past Semiramis, Valyrian dagger still in hand, and got within arm's length of Oliver.
"I am your Queen," Daenerys declared calmly.
"Really?" Oliver rose a questioning brow, a small smirk making its way into his face. "Are you sure about that?"
Fwish!
Daenerys swung at him, her dagger going for Oliver's head.
