Gu Fan and Ouyang Jin went over it repeatedly, discovering that either Gu Chuanshan had gotten the direction wrong, or that at that location, one island had really become two islands.
"Strange, my father should have had the nautical charts, why didn't he notice this problem?" Gu Fan was deep in thought while Ouyang Jin explained, "There are so many islands of various sizes in the Triangle Sea Area, the locals probably got lazy when they were drawing the map. Some of the smaller islands were not drawn at all, only the main islands were represented. Otherwise, how could so many islands fit on one sheet of paper?"
Gu Fan thought this made sense. He realized his father had seen many islands along the way that were not represented on the map. This wouldn't be surprising then.
Ouyang Jin reiterated, "I passed that location with a group three times, and there was only one island."
