Because it was a salvo of three rounds, the explosion continued for about a minute, with a total of fifty-four shells hitting the ground, erasing everything on it leaving only dozens of large and small craters still emitting billowing blue smoke.
Although there had been corrections, the spread of the artillery barrage was still quite large. Thankfully, the Reconnaissance Squad had taken cover at a relatively far distance; otherwise, they would not have been hit directly but would have at least been covered in dust.
Everyone waited silently until the gun smoke had almost dispersed, at which point there were no longer any living things standing on the ground. Looking at the scene before them, the Captain of the Reconnaissance Team took a deep breath and then said to his team members, "Report on the damage, Number Three, come with me for a closer look."
"Eh, okay!" the one called Number Three nodded.
