Chương 2: General Lucas
"What the hell is going on" Derrick whispered
"Well, that's what I want to know" Thomas said as well
"I think you're from around here, that I want to believe, but you're not dressed the part. Where are you coming from, trio?" General Lucas asked with his head high.
"We're coming from Central Rome. I'm the CEO of the M.A group" Andrey answered. "We were on our way to China when we suddenly met with a group of pirates, two groups to be exact. They chased us back here. If anything I'd like to return back home. Since the storm is already gone, it should be safe enough to take a plane to China as at this moment, don't you agree, Mr Lucas?"
"It's General Lucas. And no, I don't agree. What's a plane by the way?" General Lucas asked
"Have you been living under a rock or something?" Thomas poked the head of Lucas to inflict some pain. He then looked around. "This is a shitty performance. Where's your director? And where are the cameras? This armor of yours also looks out of date" He touched Lucas's armor
General Lucas moved backwards and kept his hands behind him. "Seize him" He commanded and two of his soldiers came to tie him up
"Wait! Where are you taking him?" Andrey said as he held Lucas's hand. Lucas looked at their hands touching and Andrey immediately removed his hand from his. "Sorry! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to touch you"
"I'm taking him to his Majesty, the emperor. He shall make the decision whether to kill or spare him"
"What was his offence?" Andrey asked and Derrick squished his arm "Whince!"
"He touched me. I shall have his head" General Lucas turned and went away leaving the duo alone on the ship
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Andrey asked Derrick as they looked at the leaving ship.
Derrick turned to him. "Yes. We'll leave immediately. Have your cousin manage the company and we can go to China and start a new life. I could hook you up with some Chinese guy. A 6'2 tall top your taste-"
"NO! Derrick, don't be wicked for fuck's sake. We have to get Thomas back from those people. Get the ship back to the deck. I'll try to call 911" Andrey required
"I think my idea is better, boss. Give it a thinking for a while first and see if we can come to an understanding on this matter. You see, we're very young and handsome young men and it would be a waste if we should die in the hands of some handsome-"
"DERRICK!"
"Of course, boss". Derrick went upstairs and turned the ship around. Andrey was still trying to get a signal but it was just impossible. He began to get worried and couldn't even settle down and relax.
Derrick called from upstairs " Boss, are you okay? You look... Oh....my.....goodness!"
"What's wrong, Derrick?" Andrey asked and looked behind him, into Rome. It was completely different. There were houses with a very old setting.
That didn't matter at the moment. What mattered was to get Thomas and leave. Andrey could see the General's ship just pulling on deck. Derrick packed the ship and they both got off the ship.
Every eyes were on them. They looked like aliens in the setting after all . And their ship was the most captivating. It was white and it looked extremely expensive. The royal ship couldn't stand beside it and look significant. It couldn't stand a chance.
Thomas could be seen tied up and being pushed by a few soldiers upfront. He was ranting. " Why can't he just keep his mouth shut for a moment? Doesn't he see the kind of situation he's in? He'll get himself killed" Andrey said, more to himself than to Derrick
"And us too if we don't leave immediately. These people I've never seen before. They look so poor I feel like they're going to rob us at any moment"
"They wouldn't dare. Lucas is here. Do you think he's gay?". They stood behind a container
"I don't know. He could be bisexual. He's so hot, even a guy would look nothing less than a girl to him"
"He looks like a Greek god. He smells like a Greek god too"
" Boss, don't fall for him. Even though I hate Thomas to the guts, I don't support you cheating on him" Derrick said as they moved to hide behind another container
"Whatever! Let's just grab Thomas and leave this place. These people are giving me the creeps"
Lucas came out of the ship and the people began to cheer. Lucas then stood on a high platform and addressed them.
"Citizens of Great Rome. It is I, General Lucas" he said and the people began to cheer again. A crowd had formed in an instant and they finally had an opportunity to come out of hiding and join them.
"I have brought unto us greatness and victory once again. We have defeated the pirates and retrieve all of your belongings. As long as his Majesty, our emperor, Odesius Artur the third, is still on that throne, I can assure you, more greatness awaits us in the future". The crowd cheered vigorously. Their throats would sour up in a few minutes from then.
Lucas jumped off the platform and went his way onto a horse. Rode off with Thomas and his soldiers.
"Oh no" Derrick said sarcastically " They're gone. We have to leave now boss. We won't catch up to them"
"No! We won't go back until we have Thomas. We came together, we leave together Let's go after them" Andrey said
They went after the horses and lost them eventually. They didn't know which way to go. They were lost even. They had to ask someone for directions.
"Sorry, sir. Please which way did Lu- uhm General Lucas go?" Andrey asked
"I don't know. No one knows. It seems you're new here. I can tell you one thing. Whenever he comes back from war, he would head into the woods and won't be spotted until after three days. No one knows the exact location of where he goes there and no one has ever succeeded either " the passer-by said
"Thank you a lot. I would ask for your digits if I wasn't in a rush". Andrey and Derrick went on their way.
"What are digits?" The passer-by asked someone in confusing
" Where did you hear this from?" The person asked the passer-by
"A young man and another who just left"
"Which direction did they go?"
"That way". The passer-by pointed forward and the man followed in the direction.
" I think we went back in time, Derrick" Andrey said to Derrick
"What makes you think that, boss? I mean it could just be a nightmare of yours or mine, don't you think?"
"No, Derrick. I didn't hear wrong when Lucas said this is the reign of Odesius Arthur, which was like 10000 years ago which is like 100 centuries ago, Derrick. That explains why I couldn't get a signal too" Andrey halted his tracks and stood in front of Derrick. "Derrick, look at this setting"
"It looks like one from the old paintings I've seen before" Derrick said in realization and he began to panic
" We're in the past, Derrick. Think about it, the clouds were at their angriest a moment ago, infact for an entire week and in the blink of an eye, the weather became peaceful and we were here. Peaceful apart from the pirates incident of course"
"Oh my goodness, boss, we're in the past. I'm doomed. We're doomed" Derrick panicked
"Don't panic, Derrick. We can still figure out a way out of here. We just have to find Thomas first"
"Enough about Thomas, boss. We're doomed. What will your grandparents do if they couldn't find you? They would kill me. Oh wait, they can't. I'm stuck here with you. Well, that solves that problem. But wait, I haven't fuck enough successful men yet. I'll die of regret in this painful past"
"Stop it, Derrick. Let's find the forest first" Andrey snorted
"And how will we do that?" Derrick asked, a little calm now
"If I should remember anything from history class, it would be the story of a General which caught my attention most. General Luke which if we put two and two together, should be General Lucas. History defines him as a very loyal servant to an emperor whose name was not written in the history books.
He would go into the Chisbe forest which is known however as the forbidden forest which was destroyed by a civil war and later made into a church. A Catholic church. I know the place. The road isn't quite different from that of the modern day's so we can still trace the forest. Follow me". Andrey and Derrick began to make curtsies by the houses. Good thing he was learned, right?
"Boss, even if we do find the location of the Catholic church, how do we find where the General disappears to. You heard that man" Derrick said
"The church did have a basement, didn't it? It wasn't recoded that anyone built it. The founders of the church gave a report that they met it there and built the church on top of it. That must be where he goes to. But what does he do there?"
"Eat human flesh?" Derrick suggested with a gasp following after
"Or maybe to take a break before going to meet the emperor. But why wasn't the emperor recorded in the names of past rulers of Rome?"
" Maybe he's disabled, don't you think, boss?"
"It could be"
" How much longer till we get there boss?" Derrick was getting tired and impatient
"It's not far but the roads are very intriguing. I'm not enjoying this either, Derrick"
"Stop it right there" Someone said from behind them
