With a swift thrust, Morsan's sword pierced halfway through the body of the demon-like being before him, a creature he had only known from the tales of his previous existence. His eyes blazed with a frenzied intensity as he drove the weapon deeper.
"Hold on, escape? Escape from where exactly? Is it from this very place or is it from the overwhelming flood of emotions within me? Is it from the burning rage and... the deep-rooted hatred? Cut off my bond with Tizona? Why would I even contemplate that? It's my damn cheat code to become stronger... Why should I give that up? Do you honestly believe I was trapped here without any way out? Do you think I fought against them because I had no other alternatives?"
Every word he spoke was laced with fury, his voice booming with rage. He then let out a menacing laugh at the towering man before him.
"I ended their lives because I wanted to, and I have no qualms about it, especially since they were just a creature that transformed due to magic. Can you help me with my problems? Who are you to make such a statement? You did not know my motives."
Despite being caught off guard by Morsan's sudden attack, the demon guy didn't show any signs of shock or irritation. Instead, he maintained a genuine sense of surprise and his smile never wavered. He appeared even more amused after hearing Morsan's words.
"So? What do you want then?"
"Tell me, are you responsible for all the chaos unfolding right now? You have caused this mess, haven't you?" Disregarding his frozen grin, Morsan persisted, "I discovered a while back that someone tampered with Tizona's ritual magic. As soon as I began chanting for the ritual, my mind started to unravel. Judging by the desperate and fearful tone of Tizona, I could deduce that it wasn't the culprit but someone he was acquainted with and feared."
"It seems like you planned to keep me away from everything, making it difficult for me to hear Tizona. Were you intentionally trying to hinder my ability to think clearly, leaving me to fight those monsters alone and consider an offer from a stranger? Do you think this stupid plan would work since I was a kid? For real?! I'm sure that we haven't met each other before. Is this all connected to Tizona? By forming a pact with me, are you planning something related to Tizona? You are strong enough to mess up someone's mind without them realizing it, so why you didn't try to kill me and take that sword away? That would have been easier. It's not like I could escape from you if you decided to kill me, but you chose to make a pact with me. What would happen after you achieved your goal? Hahahaha, if you are going to kill me either way then, I don't have anything more to lose anyway. Now tell me, I'm genuinely curious about your intentions."
Morsan usually preferred to rely on the demon rather than Cursed Sword Tizona, which lost its connection easily.
However, sensing the pressure emitted by the demon, Morsan realized he was facing a being on a completely different level, one he suspected to be the evil god mentioned in the system message about Tizona. Nonetheless, after giving it some thought, he discarded that possibility since the message stated that the evil god had lost his connection with Tizona a long time ago. He guessed making a pact with a demon may make that evil god sense Tizona, which may put both him and Tizona into a dangerous situation.
Plus, Tizona seemed more trustworthy than the demon before him because both Morsan and Tizona needed each other to achieve their own goals, Morsan wanted to get stronger, and Tizona wanted to break some kind of curse using blood sacrifice. But the demon before him needs nothing from him, he can't negotiate with him, so Morsan chooses to bet his life on later.
"How?!!"
The playful smile on the demon's face vanished as soon as Morsan finished his speech. Confusion and bewilderment replaced it as if he had seen something absurd which made Morsan even angrier than he was already.
"What do you mean by 'How?' do you think I was a retard and who couldn't be able to think, at least this much?!"
Dark-red aura emitting from him became even thicker as he pierced his sword more. But he saw no blood from the wound of the demon as if the person before him was nothing but an illusion.
As it wound on his body was nothing of concern, a demonic being analyzing something of Morsan. When Morsan took out his sword from the demon guy, his wounds healed at a rapid speed. Flustered Morsan backed off, and prepared to face any attack, but contrary to what he thought, the demonic guy didn't attack him even after all of this.
'Is he incapable of attacking me? then why didn't he attack me yet? Am I not worthy enough to get him angry at me?!'
Mosan completely hated this feeling of being looked down upon, but he couldn't do anything about it.
The whole place went silent for a moment before the demonic being opened his mouth to break the silence.
"...How can you able to think after getting corrupted by magic?!"
"I was sure that you didn't resist my corruption, you should have become a savage beast by now... no. you already became one, but... you managed to maintain a little bit of your sanity?!... I failed?!"
"C-corruption?! what was that?" Morsan asked with some hesitation since he was also clueless about what he was talking about.
When he asked about corruption, he saw the demon's face twisted into anger.
"Tsk, you didn't even know how Mana corruption works?! And I failed to corrupt someone like you?! That's impossible...!! you... Even though you knew something was off, why didn't you resist your rage?!"
