Chương 42: Damages(Detailed)

As the terrorist plane bombing report, titled '1950 Assassination Report' was published, and India officially designated UK a terrorist country, along with breaking all diplomatic relations by kicking out all diplomats and officials, along with freezing all British assets in India, it was a disaster for UK.

Within 6 hours of this report's publication, China also designated UK as a terrorist country to weaken its hold on Hong Kong, plus weakening it in Korean War.

The news about it spreaded like wildfire, and increased the resistance against British colonialism across the world, especially Hong Kong, British islands near India, and the indirect control it has on Iran and Seuz Canal.

If that wasn't enough, Saudi Arabia was quick to throw UK under the truck, removing any responsibility it had and blaming UK.

If it was just India and China, the report would have been easily dismissed as a conspiracy theory against former colonial power. But an important US ally, Saudi Arabia pushing the blame on UK made it seem like the report is true, and UK has a hand in this. The Anti-India stance of Britain made it even more believable for the British and International community.

As if this wasn't enough, many Britishers were boasting that they can doom anyone who opposes the Great Britain. It certainly wasn't helping how it's civilians were proud of it.

In the emergency parliament session, the MPs asked the current PM.

"Did you do it?"

"F*ck no! Do you really believe that we will stoop that low!? Killing innocent civilians for assassinating some dumb scientists!? They are no Oppenheimer!"

Everyone in the parliament agreed on the outside, but they knew that they will stoop even lower.

But, a new independent newspaper made things worse as it asked Homi Bhabha's colleagues in UK.

"He was my colleague. While I don't think he, or anyone, can match Einstein's genius, he certainly wasn't just an ordinary scientist, especially in Nuclear Physics. It isn't impossible that he could be the head of India's nuclear program. I would say, there is no way someone other than him could be the head."

While the scientist of University of Cambridge was warned and the newspaper was quickly taken down, a KGB member managed to get a hold of it, and it was shared across the world.

While on a call with Churchill, the US President asked,"Did you do it?"

"No! Those beasts are spreading propaganda. Do you plan to be their chief guest in their Independence day?"

"Yes. But don't worry, I will try my best to calm down India and mediate between the two countries."

"...Thank you."

(Tehran, Iran)

A day after the report, two groups of masked people, more than 10,000 in each, broke into the Shah's palace and British Oil company's office.

Someone from Shah's guards have betrayed him, and opened the doors for the revolutionaries to enter.

All the Britishers and the Shah were brutally murdered by angry mobs, and the country was liberated.

Mahalagha Jaberi, the current 'Muhammad Irani' and her supporters captured the Shah's palace, and published a decree.

'British Control is gone. The People of Iran will control Iran's oil. All communities in Iran are requested to send their representatives for the Constituent Assembly.

After the constitution is framed, the elections will be held for the Prime Minister.

I proclaim the Irani Revolution a success, grieve for all the Muhammed Iranis before me, and I will step down after peaceful transfer of power to the very first elected government of Iran.'

The outcome of the revolution greatly shocked CIA. They fully expected Jaberi to become either a dictator of a communist country or the head of a democratic country. It would have been easier to topple the government if a widowed woman was the leader.

But it seems that Jaberi herself, and her supporters, including India were aware of the dangers beforehand and decided that it would be better to have elections instead and she will step down.

Now, US needed to support a pro-US candidate. The difficulty has increased, but it's not something impossible.

(British Indian Ocean Islands)

Riots plunged the British colony in proximity with India.

'Britain Out' campaign that has been going on for years took a violent turn as the British offices were smashed by angry mobs, and they were trapped inside until they signed the Declaration of Independence. The telephone connection was cut off, so no information could be passed to the British government for two days before the information reached there.

The British officials held hostage were without any food and water. The water tanks were broken and the officials had to live in flooded, broken offices.

Though the British government didn't recognise any independence declaration, the officials there signed it to save their own lives.

The officials were then dragged out, and thrown into the ocean for the British coast guard to rescue and take them away.

British naval ships arrived a day later, threatening the islands of invasion.

That's why, the newly named group of islands, Maldives became an Indian state on 25 years protectorate lease.

After 25 years, they will get a chance to become an independent country. And even then, India will protect it militarily from any invasion.

-----------------------------------------

(Egypt)

In Egypt, nationalisation of Seuz canal and removing British military became the major 1950 election agenda.

Gamal Abdel Nasser was becoming increasingly popular with the two issues, and has managed to convince most of the people using the recent terrorist action by UK.

France and UK, which control Seuz Canal were trying to do everything to not let him come to power.

In retaliation to France, he also started advocating for independence of Algeria.

----------------------------

In the span of three years since India's independence, Britain's reputation has been dragged through the mud, all its bases near India are gone, and both CIA and KGB have gotten the perfect scapegoat when they assassinate someone.

They just have to make sure to not use terrorist groups who scream to the world that they are the ones who did it.

And if that wasn't enough, the king of Britain just died due to heart attack, possibly due to the stress.
