"As usual, Young Master Armani ranked first how do you feel being in high school?" Mason's best friend Miles Kira James said.
"Do you have a death wish Kira?" Mason said as he walked inside the school gate.
Kira was Miles's middle name and yes, he hated it to the core but he had to live with it all his life. His parents wanted a girl so bad but here he was so instead he was named Kira which was basically a girl's name.
"You seriously know I hate that name, fine I'm sorry I just wanted to tease you a bit don't worry I know in school you are just Mason an ordinary boy," he whined.
"Good," Mason replied nonchalantly.
Mason's attitude was only known to Miles. He was a cold-blooded person. Mason was only sixteen years but he already had an eye for business and was recognized as a young genius who would dominate the industry in the future. But good thing he had one person who could tame him his secret lover. No his secret crush.
"When will you confess? Do you how much I went through just to convince my parents to let me study here?" Miles whined.
"Don't worry, I'll treat you to dinner good job," Mason smiled.
The James family was also ranked second after the Armani family in terms of wealth and power. The James family was mostly a group of doctors while the Armanis were basically businessmen. So they have been friends ever since they were born.
"Aaah! Jeez, I pity you, you have been following him around for years but he hasn't even once noticed you who would have thought the Young Master was a lovelorn? I guess there are blind people in this world, how can someone not notice this handsome figure here," he blabbered.
"You better shut up your loose mouth or else," Mason warned him.
"Fine, good we are in the same class," Miles said excitedly.
"Mmmh, keep up with your studies,"
"You know I'm not so good at studying unlike you," he replied.
Unlike Mason, Miles wasn't that much of a genius but he ranked among the top ten students. As a second-generation heir, he wasn't allowed or given time to slack off. His time and studies were managed by his parents and the only time he could slack off was when he was with Mason. His parents trusted him more.
"Welcome all to grade one class one, I'll be your homeroom teacher for the next three years before we begin we need a class president," the homeroom teacher walked into the class.
"Anyone?" He said as he stared at the students, "Then how about our number one student, Mason can you do it?"
"Can you choose someone else? I'm afraid it might interfere with my studies," Mason stood up and said.
"What a lie!" Miles couldn't help but mumble.
It was not that it could interfere with his studies, Mason hated attention and one way of bringing attention to you was by being a class president. That would mean interacting with the whole class which would be too troublesome for him plus he liked being a nerd as what everyone called him.
"Okay, if you say so anyone else?" The teacher said.
"Since no one is willing let's leave it at that for now, let's begin our lesson," he said after a while.
****
"Don't you want to give it a try this time? Be the class president no one fits that role more than you," Miles said after class.
"Not interested those are just meaningless roles, it's too troublesome," Mason said.
"Oooh, speaking of that do you think he is here? I didn't see him in class today, what if he didn't come to this high school?"
The reason why they chose a regular high school rather than an elite school was because of Mason's crush.
"You are really two-faced one side a rich second-generation heir the other side a normal ordinary high school student, one side a cold-blooded person the other side a sweet lover lorn," Miles teased him.
"Do you still want dinner? Course if not..."
"I want tch! You are so cold," Miles said.
"What is really your plan after high school? Will you follow him silently around forever? Why do you even love him it's not like he is someone great?" Miles bombarded him with questions.
"I will answer that one day,"
"You keep avoiding the question, can't you tell me? We have been friends ever since we came into this world," Miles said.
"Why do I love him? Mmmh," Mason chuckled slightly.
"What is so funny?"
"Let's go, I'll tell you over dinner." He replied as they boarded the bus.
"Why don't you tell me now?"
"Can't you just shut up?" Mason reprimanded him.
"Aah! Jeez you are so moody this is why you have no friends,"
"Why do I need friends?"
"Yes, yes you don't need friends I've heard that over a million times but you got me don't worry,"
"Can I ask you something?" Miles said.
"Is it necessary?" Mason asked.
Mason was the kind of person who valued his alone time. He rarely spoke unless it was important he found it too troublesome and often appeared moody and grumpy. He was basically someone unapproachable.
Aside from that, he hated one thing most having his picture taken reasons why? No one knew about it.
"Just one question," Miles said.
"What is it?"
"Why do you always carry a sketch book around?" He asked as he stared at Mason's hand.
"To draw," he replied nonchalantly.
"To draw? The only thing that you draw in there is your so-called lover do you know RJ?" He asked.
