Chương 29: Zero odds

"Do as you like," Tiamat got up from her throne and prepared to leave the grand hall with the others.

"I'm thinking of taking a little walk inside the sanctuary. Are you coming?" she asked Incarus.

"You can go ahead. I have some matters to attend to with Leviathan."

After taking a glance at Leviathan and Incarus, Tiamat left the hall with the others.

Sitting in his throne, Leviathan looked toward Icarus.

"Let's go outside. I remember you saying that you don't have full knowledge of your capabilities."

Icarus got up from his throne while talking to Leviathan.

"I can give you some help to figure out your abilities."

Following that, Leviathan walked behind Icarus.

Soon, the two of them left the grand hall, walking toward the outside of the sanctuary.

Clang!

The sound of swords clashing reverberated through the room that resembled a training area.

Clad in full knight armor, a person wielding an extremely sharp sword swung it forward at full speed.

On the other side, there was another person also wearing full knight armor and equipped with a large shield.

Because of the full knight armor, the faces of the two people who were fighting were concealed by their visors. It was challenging for anyone watching this fight to figure out who these two individuals were.

The knight who equipped with a sword struck again with a thrust towards his opponent. However, on the other side, his opponent easily deflected the sword thrust with his shield and positioned himself to deliver a critical blow to the one wielding the sword.

Taking the chance, the knight holding the shield tightened his grip and punched toward the stomach area of his opponent.

Seeing the incoming attack, the sword-wielding knight hastily backed down. Simultaneously, after missing his blow, the shield knight pushed his way toward the other knight with his shield in front and leaped toward the sword-wielding knight.

The sword-wielding knight, having been hit by the force of the shield knight, fell to the ground as he retreated.

Seeing his opponent fall, the shield knight hurriedly kicked toward the hand where the sword was. With a powerful kick from the shield knight, the sword of the other knight loosened from his hand.

"You lose again," said the shield knight, standing in front of the fallen enemy.

"Don't be hasty with your sword; strike while also being careful of your enemy's situation."

He extended his hand toward the one who had fallen. Grabbing his hand, the other knight also stood up from the ground.

"I'll keep that in mind. So, are we going for another round?" asked the other knight from the shield knight.

"This is enough for today. I have some other tasks to attend to," the shield knight began to loosen up his full armor and removed his visor. Unveiling his face.

"What kind of task?" On the other side, the sword knight also removed his full armor and visor, revealing the striking face of Knight Raven.

"Elder Khanel told me to investigate the Ascended Theocracy. It seems the Absolute Beings are starting to gather information about the enemy," replied Knight Ronald from the other side. He put his shield away and began to walk toward a specific room in the training hall.

"Do you need my help with that?" Raven also joined him.

"No need, instead of helping me, you need more training," Ronald politely refused Raven's offer.

"That's why I asked you to spar with me," replied Raven.

"No, that's not what I meant. Let me be more specific. Rather than focusing on physical abilities, you need more mental training. It's clear from the way you strike and behave in battle that your mind is often uncalm."

While they were talking, the two of them got closer to the specific room. As they approached, Ronald extended his hand and opened the door.

Inside the room was a space designed for bathing, but instead of traditional bathing, this place resembled a sauna.

At this moment, other than Ronald and Raven standing in the doorway, there didn't seem to be anyone else in it.

The two of them entered the room and removed all their clothes, then donned sauna wraps specific to this room. They walked toward the heated area and sat down in a spot.

"mental training?" Raven asked Ronald.

"Yes, I know some elders knowledgeable in that field. I'll ask them to give you some advice," Ronald said as he leaned against a wall and stretched his body comfortably.

Raven also leaned on sauna bench and began to relish the heat from the steam. The fact that he had already met his limits was known only to him, and he hadn't shared it with anyone. And He always made sure to conceal this fact from others.

So even if he took more physical or martial training, it wouldn't do any good for him. Instead, what he awaited now was the upcoming war against the Ascended Theocracy.

"That reminds me, do you remember the guy who came with the priestess from the Ascended Theocracy?" Raven asked as he remembered something.

"Are you talking about the man with a burly body?" replied Ronald while still in a comfortable position.

"Yes, that guy," Raven nodded. "How did you feel about him?"

Following Raven's question, Ronald opened his eyes and leaned forward from his position.

"Other than his strong physique and muscular appearance, that guy exuded a high-class aura," replied Ronald, picturing grake in his mind.

"Do you think you can win against him?" Raven directed his gaze at Ronald with this question.

For a few moments, silence filled the room, and only the sound of steam could be heard. Ronald took some time to answer Raven.

"If I go all out, I think I can win, but if not, I'm not sure," he replied after thinking.

"So, even you have enemies that you can't easily defeat," Raven leaned back again in comfort. In his mind, the chances he would win against Grake were close to zero, and that had made him a bit despondent. But after knowing that even Ronald had doubts about defeating Grake, his mind felt somewhat at ease.
