Janet's POV
After spending almost thirty minutes reviving Daisy, we were finally on our way to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Daisy kept on quarreling with Tyler for not telling him about Leroy's condition.
Well, she's right after all. How can Tyler decide to hide such news from her? After all, Leroy is her mate, and what about if I'm in Leroy's shoes and she decides to hide it from him? How would he feel?
As the both of them were busy ranting at themselves, I sat silently in the backseat, thinking about Leroy.
I kept praying in my mind that nothing bad would happen to him because I wasn't ready to go through the pain I went through when I lost my foster parents.
"Janet, tell me, if you had known that Daisy would pass out after you announced the news to her, would you have told her?" Tyler asked me, and immediately I jerked back to reality.
"Janet, he's asking you a question," Daisy said to me while turning her gaze towards me.
"Come on, Daisy, will you please allow him to drive quickly? Leroy is in the hospital for crying out loud," I said to her.
"Yes, your highness," she replied with a submissive tone before facing her.
"Wait just a second; did she just submit to me, or am I daydreaming?
"Daisy, what did you say?" I asked her in order to confirm my suspicions.
"What?" She asked me, and it seems like she too doesn't even remember what she just said. With that, Tyler gave a strange look because he too was surprised as well.
"Daisy, are you okay?" Tyler asked his sister, who nodded in agreement, and immediately Tyler faked a smile at her before returning his attention to the steering.
It didn't take long before we arrived at the hospital, and once we got there, I immediately dashed out of the car while leaving Tyler and Daisy behind.
Meanwhile, Tyler needed to park the car in the garage of the hospital before coming in.
"Good afternoon, Mrs. Can you please tell me in which ward Leroy is located?" I asked the receptionist, who gave me a strange look.
"Sorry, Mrs., but I can't do that; we aren't allowed to direct strangers to the ward of our patients; to get the direction to the ward of a patient, you need to be a family member or relative," the receptionist said to me, and immediately I furrowed my brows at her.
"Do I look like a stranger?" I asked her, but she remained indifferent.
"I'm his little sister for crying out loud," I said to her, and immediately she chuckled mockingly at me.
"Wow, I never knew that Leroy had a little sister," she said to me with a mockery tone, and immediately I got enraged.
"Hey Mrs. or whatever you are, if I ask you in which ward Leroy is once again, you won't like the other side of me." I threatened her angrily, and immediately she fidgeted in fear.
"I'm sorry, your highness," she said to me while lowering her head in a sign of submission.
"Your what?" Hey, what did you just call me?" I asked her immediately with an icy glare, but instead of replying, she bent down, brought out a notebook, and started checking in which ward Leroy was.
As I stood there staring strangely at her, I couldn't help but wonder if anything was wrong with me.
Why are people addressing me as "your highness," especially Daisy, who is an Alpha? The worst part of everything is that Tyler hasn't marked me yet, so it's awkward for anyone to address me as "your highness." Happily, Tyler wasn't around to witness this; if not, it could have resulted in him bombarding me with questions or even thinking that I'm hiding something from him.
As these thoughts were running through my mind, I was jerked back by the tap of Tyler, who was standing behind me.
"Are you okay?" Tyler asked him with a worried tone.
"Yes," I replied brusquely. Actually, the receptionist is still checking in which ward Leroy is," I said to him, and immediately he nodded at me before placing his hands on my shoulder.
"Good afternoon, my Alpha," the receptionist greeted Tyler while smiling seductively at him.
"Good afternoon," Tyler greeted her with a warm smile, and immediately Daisy, who was standing beside me, tapped me in order to signal to me that the receptionist was trying to seduce Tyler.
"Hey, will you stop eye-humping my mate and tell me in which ward my brother is?" I screamed at her angrily, and immediately she jerked back to reality.
"He's in room 34," she said to me while avoiding my gaze. With that, I gave her an angry stare before using my two fingers to point at my eyes, and afterwards I pointed it at her, meaning I'm watching you.
I could see the fear written all over her because of my reaction, and without hesitating, I approached Tyler, dragged his hand, and started heading upstairs.
After some seconds, we were finally in front of room 34. Without knocking, I pushed the door and walked in.
Once we got in, we saw Leroy lying on the bed shirtless; his whole chest was bandaged; possibly the arrow was shot at his chest.
Contrary to what I had expected, Leroy was awake, grinning ear to ear as if nothing had happened to him.
Before I could even approach him, Daisy was already hugging as if he were dead and resurrected afterwards.
"Ooh, my sweet darling, I thought that something bad had happened to you," Daisy said to him while hugging him tightly, and immediately Tyler and I glanced at each other before shaking our heads in disbelief.
"Nothing happened to me, babe, but can you please loosen your grip a little bit? My heart is killing me," Leroy said to his sweetheart in the midst of pain.
"Ooh, I'm sorry, sweetheart," Daisy said to him before disengaging from the hug.
"Hi Janet," Leroy greeted me, and immediately I approached him and hugged him while fighting the urge to break down in tears.
"Come on, Janet, I will stop overreacting. I have told you guys that I'm okay," Leroy said to me when he noticed that I was on the edge of breaking down in tears.
With that, I smiled at him.
"How are you doing, Leroy? Tyler asked him with a calm tone.
"Fine, my Alpha, the doctor has disinfected the poison; I'm slowly healing," Leroy said to Tyler, who nodded in agreement.
"Happy to hear that, Tyler. I don't know how I could have consoled these ladies if something bad had happened to you," Tyler said to Leroy while smiling at us.
"But do you have any idea of who was behind the attack?" Tyler asked Leroy.
"Yes, it's Tony's men; the attack is a sort of warning that they are giving us," Leroy said to Tyler.
