Chương 808: Chapter 808: Taylor's Throat Tea

New York, Yankee Stadium.

Martin trailed behind Karlie Kloss and Blake Lively, navigating the bustling crowd until they reached the seats reserved for friends and family, positioned just to the side of the grand stage.

Blake, clearly excited, shouted over the roar of the crowd, "It's so easy to get backstage from here!"

The fans' deafening cheers swallowed her words, leaving Martin to lean in closer to Karlie. She tugged gently on his arm and whispered in his ear, "After the opening song, let's head backstage together."

Martin nodded and whispered back, "Sounds good. Does Taylor have any special plans tonight? This isn't something that just happens because she wants it."

Karlie smiled knowingly. "Blake and I are helping set the stage for her. Taylor's got a limited window to make it perfect, so we're here to support her final push."

Martin couldn't help but admire their dedication. "You two are such great friends."

With a playful grin, Karlie leaned in and planted a firm kiss on his lips. "When Taylor's tour wraps up, we're planning to expand our circle. You'll be the ultimate test! Only those who pass can join."

Martin chuckled, curiosity piqued. "And what exactly is the passing standard?"

Karlie's eyes twinkled with mischief. "Well, since we're best friends, we should share the best experiences together, right?" She winked at Martin. "Enjoying life to the fullest is a must."

Blake chimed in, "Absolutely! If someone doesn't appreciate Martin's company, they're out."

Karlie turned to Martin, her voice light yet serious. "So, Martin, are you ready to help us vet new friends?"

He replied with a mock-serious tone, "Do I even have a choice?"

Just then, the stage lights flared to life, and the crowd's cheers rose to a fever pitch, shaking the very foundation of Yankee Stadium. Martin glanced around, taking in the sea of ecstatic fans.

As the anticipation built, he reflected on Taylor's journey. Her transition from country roots to pop stardom seemed inevitable. In his previous life, Taylor had come close to the pinnacle of music royalty.

Now, she was well on her way, claiming influence and power that extended beyond music.

Fireworks exploded above, heralding Taylor's grand entrance. She emerged in a dazzling sequined miniskirt, her appearance a striking contrast to the outlandish styles often seen in North American concerts. Despite the short skirt, her look was relatively modest.

Taylor's meticulously crafted smile and expressive eyes breathed life into her performance, captivating the audience like a charismatic fox.

Martin, Karlie, and Blake listened to the opening song, the energy electrifying. As the final notes played, Karlie nudged Martin and pointed towards the backstage entrance, signaling it was time to move.

Blake Lively grabbed Martin's arm, pulling him up with a grin.

Martin nodded, falling in step with her and Karlie as they headed towards the backstage area.

At the entrance, one of Taylor's assistants awaited them, her expression a blend of efficiency and warmth. She escorted the trio through a labyrinth of corridors until they reached Taylor's dressing room.

Taylor had thoughtfully divided the space into two areas: an outer room for makeup and costume changes, and an inner sanctum for more private matters. The assistant led them straight to the inner room, where the sounds of Taylor's performance echoed faintly from the stage.

Martin glanced at his watch, sensing the urgency. "Ladies, we need to get started."

Karlie checked her own watch. "We've got a bit of time before halftime."

Blake, ever the quick thinker, began clearing the space. "Come on, Karlie, you know how Martin is, we'll need a few extra minutes."

Karlie nodded, her playful demeanor masking the seriousness of their task. "You're right. Taylor's voice needs all the support we can give. We might not be on stage with her, but we can help her here."

Martin felt a rush of excitement. This was a unique experience, something he hadn't done at a concert before. The adrenaline of the moment surged through him.

As the trio worked together, Martin's mind drifted to memories of wild rock concerts he had seen in videos. He recalled a performer who once played poker on stage and sang his heart out, and another female singer, an American, who dragged a fan on stage and sprayed him with water.

The backstage buzz grew louder, signaling the approaching intermission. Taylor's swift steps echoed in the hallway before she nearly burst into the room, her energy palpable. Her assistant followed closely, kettle in hand.

Taylor took a quick sip of water and exchanged a meaningful glance with her assistant, who discreetly pointed towards the inner room's door.

"Everyone out," Taylor commanded, her voice carrying the authority of a star who knew exactly what she needed. "I need two minutes alone."

This was her longest break during the concert, a precious window to recharge. Her mother, Andrea Swift, entered with a cup of tea, placing it gently on the dressing table. "Honey, this is the throat-soothing tea I prepared for you. It's really effective."

Taylor, eyes closed and visibly tired, waved her off. "Not this time, Mom."

The assistant quickly ushered everyone out, ensuring Taylor's brief moment of solitude. The room cleared, leaving Taylor to her thoughts, if only for a precious few minutes.

The room emptied once again as everyone filed out.

The female assistant closed the door behind them and took her position as sentry.

Inside, Taylor opened her eyes, sprang from her chair, and darted towards the inner door. She pounded on it with urgency.

Karlie Kloss opened the door and stepped aside just in time for Taylor to rush past her. "My throat feels like it's on fire. I need help, quickly!"

Blake Lively also made way as Taylor charged forward, calling out, "Martin!"

In a flash, she was rendered speechless.

Two minutes later, the dressing room door swung open, and Taylor, breathless but revitalized, commanded, "Quick, change my clothes!"

A flurry of activity ensued as everyone gathered around her.

The agent, noticing the change, remarked, "Taylor, your voice sounds better than before. Did the rest do the trick?"

Taylor shrugged, a slight smile playing on her lips. "Maybe."

Andrea Swift, holding the kettle, added, "It must be the throat tea I made. It always works wonders." She frowned slightly as she noticed the kettle's contents remained untouched. "Taylor didn't drink any of this. How did her voice recover so quickly?"

No one pressed further, but the makeup artist closest to Taylor couldn't shake her curiosity. As she touched up Taylor's makeup, she detected an unusual taste lingering in Taylor's breath, reminiscent of seafood.

Puzzled, she later approached Andrea Swift to inquire about the tea's ingredients, imagining some strange blend of seafood and herbs. Andrea, generous with her secrets, explained the simple recipe.

The makeup artist, seasoned in the music industry, knew how grueling solo concerts could be for any singer. Artists often resorted to bizarre methods to protect their voices.

After Taylor changed and returned to the stage, the makeup artist found a spot close to the action. She listened intently and marveled at how Taylor's voice had nearly fully recovered.

Excitement bubbled within her as she realized this throat tea recipe might become a coveted secret among singers.

On stage, Taylor shone brilliantly, her voice soaring and invigorating the crowd. The concert hit new heights, with fans near the stage quickly noticing Taylor's marked improvement after her brief break.

The agent looked puzzled and turned to Andrea Swift. "Taylor's voice has improved significantly compared to the last few performances. There's no decline at all in the second half."

He added, curious, "Your throat tea must be incredibly effective."

Andrea shrugged modestly. "I'm not sure. Maybe Taylor made some adjustments on her own."

Just as Andrea left, Taylor's assistant escorted Martin, Karlie Kloss, and Blake Lively back through the passage towards the family and friends' section.

The agent, recognizing Karlie, greeted her warmly. "Hi, Karlie..."

Before he could finish, he spotted Martin and stepped forward, extending his hand. "Martin, it's an honor to have you here tonight."

Martin shook his hand with a smile. "Taylor and I are good friends. I'm filming a movie in New York, so I had to come and support her."

The agent nodded, clearly impressed. "Taylor has spoken highly of you, saying you're a major inspiration for her songwriting."

Martin felt a bit awkward, but Karlie and Blake couldn't contain their laughter.

After chatting for a while, Martin, Karlie, and Blake returned to their seats among the friends and family to enjoy the rest of the concert.

Taylor seemed unstoppable, her performance growing more powerful with each song, and the atmosphere was electric. This concert was shaping up to be the highlight of her tour.

Karlie leaned in and whispered to Martin, "This concert is going to be a classic!"

Martin replied, "You've played a big part in that."

The hour-and-a-half-long concert finally ended, but the fans, reluctant to leave, cheered until Taylor came back on stage for an encore bow.

Backstage, the agent had prepared champagne to celebrate the night's success. Everyone, including family and friends, raised their glasses in a joyous toast.

Taylor found Martin in the crowd, clinking her glass against his. "Thank you for your throat tea. It made all the difference in the second half."

Martin smiled. "I'm glad I could help."

Taylor glanced at the time and grabbed his hand. "Your crew isn't filming tomorrow, right? You should rest."

Martin nodded. "No work tomorrow."

Taylor's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Don't go back tonight. We have to celebrate this successful concert all night long!"

Martin agreed, calling over Karlie and Blake. "Let's go, back to the hotel for a party."

The two eagerly joined in.

The four of them slipped out the side door and into Martin's car, using Taylor's car as cover. They quickly left Yankee Stadium, ready to continue their celebration.
