Chương 146: Ch. 146: It's Done
"It's done." Goku said suddenly, dropping to the ground. His fists dropped to his sides as well, signaling that he was done with his fight against Frieza.
"What are you talking about? What do you mean, it's done!?" Frieza demanded of the Saiyan, confused.
"There's no point in fighting you anymore. You're weak, losing energy with every blow, and your pride is shattered. You know, five minutes ago, I wanted to kill you, but seeing you now, I've realized that would be a mercy that you don't deserve." Goku told the tyrant bluntly.
"WHAT!?" Frieza seethed. 'Nobody talks to me like that!' He screamed mentally.
"See. Even as you scream at me in rage, you're shaking with terror. You're a broken man, Frieza, and that's more than enough to satisfy me." Goku noted.
"Shut up! SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!" Frieza screamed back, launching a volley of energy blasts at Goku. Once he was done, he panted, watching the smoke clear. But as it began to clear, a golden light shone clearly within.
"When we originally began fighting, I felt sorry for you, you know. Someone incapable of caring about other people, you'll always be alone. But when you killed Hanna, you were smiling. You take pleasure in causing others pain. You want to be alone... hated, but you're not worth the effort. Survive this planet's destruction, Frieza. Think long and hard, about how shortsighted and self-destructive you are, as you drift along in space, helpless, and know that I'm out there, and I'll come back and beat you again if you ever try to step out of line again." Goku turned around before he thought of something and looked back at the solitary tyrant, a smirk playing across his lips. "Not that I'll have to. While I was beating you, every single person on this planet besides us, dead or alive, was healed, resurrected, and teleported to Earth. That means that Hanna's alive as well, and if you do somehow manage to make it to Earth somehow while I'm not there, I'm sure that she'd be more than enough to defeat you without my help by then. Your time at the top of this universe's food chain is finally at an end, Frieza." With that, Goku began to fly away, the golden aura around him fading, since he didn't need Super Saiyan anymore.
"HOW DARE... CURSE YOOUUU!!!" Frieza exploded with the last of his energy, but he refused to simply give up like that. He knew as well as Goku did that if he lost here, he'd be worse off than if he died. Raising his arm, he created a spinning red disk in the air. Even if there was a massive difference in their strengths, Frieza knew from experience that this attack could break right through any defenses that Goku might have. Tossing it at the retreating Saiyan, Frieza immediately began making a second one, then a third and a fourth, and throwing them at Goku as well.
"You're a fool." Stopping in midair for a moment, Goku turned around to face the four Destructo-Disks chasing after him.
"No matter where you run or hide, these disks will chase after you and slice you to pieces! You'll never escape from their raw cutting power!" Frieza shouted, cackling.
"I told you. You're too weak." Raising his hand, Goku shot four energy blasts from his palm. He didn't even bother charging them up or going Super Saiyan, he just shot them. Each blast hit a Destructo-Disk, destroying them completely. "I hope you live a long life, Frieza." With that, he left the tyrant alone. Frieza didn't chase after him... he couldn't. He couldn't do anything but watch the Saiyan disappear into the distance.
...
"He did it." Back on Earth, on the wall of the courtyard in Hanna's dojo, Shay had projected Goku's fight against Frieza for the gang to see. From his vantage point, Vegeta could even feel the incredible energy that Goku's Super Saiyan form had given off. It was awe-inspiring. As Goku shot the disks out of the air, the projection shut itself off, making it seem like Goku'd shot a killing blow down at Frieza. "He became a Super Saiyan..." Vegeta's fist clenched. 'It's possible... but I wasn't the first to accomplish it..." Nameless feelings swirled inside the Saiyan Prince's heart. Pride in his race, being officially crowned the strongest, above even the Frost Demons. Jealousy and rage at not being the first to accomplish it. Relief in knowing that Frieza was finally gone. His knuckles went white as his nails dug into his palm with such intensity that they broke skin and drew blood, but the pain didn't help clear his mind at all.
"Daddy." Gohan muttered from my side as we watched the projection. His concern was obvious. There was a good chance that Goku wasn't going to be able to get back to his ship in time to escape the planet's explosion, and we all knew it.
"Don't worry, Gohan. Kakarot will be fine." Raditz reassured Gohan and I, mussing Gohan's hair with his hand as he pulled me into a hug.
"That's right. Not even an exploding planet stands a chance against a Super Saiyan." Nappa agreed.
...
"Come on, come on. Don't be under lava or anything!" Goku muttered to himself as he searched the Namekian countryside for his ship. "It was around here somewhere... Aha!" Finally, he found the ship that he'd taken to Namek in the first place. The terrain around it was incredibly unstable, but the ship itself seemed to be in pristine condition. Running to the door, Goku repeatedly pressed the 'Open' button, muttering "Come on, come on." to himself over and over again as it slowly opened. Finally, the door cracked open just enough for him to slip inside. Just as he made it inside, though, the ground around the ship cracked open, and the ship fell into the darkness.
...
"GOKUU!!" King Kai shouted to himself as he watched Goku's ship disappear deep into a fissure on Namek. Due to the energy that the exploding planet was giving off, the Kai couldn't look into the fissure itself to see where the ship had gone, so he began searching instead for energy signatures leaving Namek's general area. A few moments later, the planet exploded, yet King Kai still couldn't find a single living being leaving the planet. The area was dead, Goku and Frieza dead with it.
