My alarm blaring in my ear did not make me extremely eager to roll out of bed. The time zone had beat me so ferociously with an iron rod for the past day that my body felt sluggish. I would have thought I was coming down with the flu but I knew I was just struggling to adjust to my new climate. 

New York despite having a similar atmosphere to London was truly worlds apart. The city literally never slept! They just did not mean to be a catchy slogan on a souvenir shirt. The cars were constantly driving and their horns blaring the entire night. The hotel I was staying at, even though it was one of the best in the city, did nothing to keep the outside noise from coming inside.
