Chương 45: Chapter 41: Harmonic Tower.

After explaining everything in detail to Captain Dorothy, all of them set off to go to the Harmonic Tower to register for the music competition.
They formed a plan in which Ben would try to get the attention of the psycho killer, while Anny and Mary would act like normal bodyguards for Valentine, and Captain Dorothy would follow them from a distance in camouflage.
After discussing the plan, they left the hotel while Ben and Valentine were holding hands and walking down the streets.
"This city looks busy... especially this part of the street where the path to Harmonic Tower is present."
Seeing that the crowd on the streets was busy, he commented while looking around.
"Well, usually there won't be this much crowd on the streets. It's for the music festival, you know."
Hearing Ben mention how busy the street seemed to be, Valentine nodded her head and explained to him.
Earlier, Valentine looked tense when holding hands with Ben. They didn't want the killer to find anything odd in their acting.
So to break her tense mood, Ben tried to initiate a conversation with her and ease her up.
Harmonic Tower...
At the entrance of the tower, there was a large queue waiting to get through the gates.
"Whoa~ Should we need to wait there?"
Noticing the length of the queue, Mary exclaimed in shock.
"No... we nobles could directly enter the gate just after checking with the guards."
Hearing Mary's question, Valentine shook her head and started to pass the long queue and walk towards the gate where two guards were checking the information of the citizens who wanted to enter the Harmonic Tower.
"Hey! Why are they not waiting in the queue like us?"
Looking at Ben and Valentine bypassing them with two female guards guarding them, one of the men exclaimed, pointing at them.
Sigh~
"Don't talk loudly, idiot. Don't you know who she is?"
Seeing the person behind him exclaiming loudly, one of the men covered his mouth and stopped him from shouting.
"Wha... what?"
Looking at the man who stopped him from shouting, he looked confused.

"Don't tell me you don't know her? She is Valentine Ruth, one of the best singers in the Clover Kingdom. There is talk that if not for her withdrawal last music festival due to safety problems, she might have been the one who won the championship."
Noticing the clueless look on the man's face, the other man, with a sigh, explained to him.
After the guards checked Valentine's identity as a noble, they let them pass through the gate and enter the tower.
Looking at the huge hall and four gigantic statues that seemed to be holding the ceiling with both hands on four corners.
People inside were going into the specific department rooms stating the form of art that links with music like singing, dancing, and departments for many types of instrumental music, etc.
"The ground floor is reserved fully for entry purposes where someone interested in joining the different types of competitions they are interested in."
Pointing to the name tag hanging at the entrance of the room, Valentine excitedly gave a brief explanation of how this floor works.
"Oh~"
"Oh~"
Hearing their favourite singer explaining to them how the floor works, both Mary and Anny were intrigued.
They arrived before the room where the name tag for the singer category was being held and entered the room.
Inside the room, there was an old woman who was massaging her temples. It seemed like she was under stress.
Cough~ Cough~
With a cough, Valentine got the attention of the old woman who was sitting at the desk with a mountain of paperwork.

"Ms. Valentine, welcome."
Coming to her senses, the old woman looked at the four people entering the room without even knocking on the door in anger.
But when she noticed it was Miss Valentine who entered the room, her anger vanished and with a surprised look, she welcomed her with a smile.
"Madam Millan, how are you? I came to register my name for the singing competition."
Noticing the surprised look on the old woman's face, Valentine stated the purpose of her visit.
"What! Excellent! You decided to participate in this year's music festival, Miss Valentine."
Hearing Valentine wanted to participate in this year's music festival, Madam Millan brimmed with joy.
After completing the formalities and registering Valentine's name for participation, Madam Millan took an artefact that seemed like a beetle but mechanical with gold legs.
On top of its body, there is a ruby crystal attached to it.
Ben, Mary, and Anny looked at the artefact with interest, looking at the peculiar beetle.
Noticing Madam Millan taking a familiar beetle out, Valentine took her grimoire and showed it to Madam Millan.
When the grimoire was presented before it, the eyes of the beetle, which were closed before, immediately opened brimming with red light and latched onto the grimoire tightly.
After a few blinks of red on the crystal and its eyes, the red light dimmed for a few seconds.
Looking at the beetle which attached itself to the grimoire, Ben became alert.
Suddenly, the dim eyes lit green and the ruby red crystal on the back of the beetle started to merge with the grimoire, leaving only the green crystals.
"Hehe~ It's the participation token. Without it, we won't be able to participate in the competition."
Noticing the expression of Ben, who was looking at the beetle with a twinkle in his eyes, Valentine chuckled and said with a smile on her face.
"Whoa~ Can I see it up close... can you take it out?"
Hearing Valentine's explanation of the beetle, Ben asked curiously.
In his previous life, he didn't see anything like that in the anime or manga of Black Clover.
"No... we won't be able to take it off the grimoire until the competition is finished, young man."
Seeing Ben wanted to take the badge out of the grimoire, Madam Millan shook her head in denial.
After completing the registration, Ben and others left the room.
Just after they left, Madam Millan gave a signal and called one of the workers who worked under her.
Getting the call from the superior, one of the workers entered the registration room.
"Go and send this letter to House Littlefinger. We might see something very interesting."
Madam Millan passed a letter to her subordinate and asked him to send the letter to House Littlefinger.
