Chương 91: Fighting the Admiral
The Marines' officers were relieved to see Vice Admiral Momousagi and Vice Admiral Chaton arrive. Although they were only candidates for Admiral, their strength was not much weaker. With their help, they believed they could defeat Whitebeard.
"Finally, they're here!" Akainu, bloodied but determined, struggled to stand up. Despite trying to maintain his dignity, there was a flicker of happiness in his eyes. If it weren't for Momousagi's timely intervention, the last blow from Whitebeard would have seriously injured him, if not killed him.
"Quickly, let's take down Whitebeard!" Vice Admiral Tokikake, also known as 'Chaton,' declared.
Momousagi and Chaton leaped into action, positioning themselves on either side of Whitebeard. Momousagi assumed a ready sword stance and unleashed a powerful slash, splitting the earth in two. Her skill as a swordsman was evident from this single strike.
At the same time, Chaton launched a barrage of shots at Whitebeard's left side, blocking his retreat.
"You can't defeat me with this strength alone!" Whitebeard laughed heartily. He countered Momousagi's slash with a devastating punch, creating a powerful shockwave.
The two attacks collided with a deafening boom, causing shockwaves to ripple through the air. The original slash that had torn the earth was broken and turned into a mere speck of light.
"How is that possible?" the Marines' officers exclaimed in disbelief.
"Why didn't Momousagi's attack have any effect?"
"Perhaps Vice Admiral Momousagi hasn't exerted her full strength yet?"
The Marines present were visibly alarmed, while Vice Admiral Momousagi's expression turned grim.
"Haahaaha~"
"And what about Admiral? Her opponent is the strongest man in the world—Whitebeard!" Crocodile sneered.
With a flourish of his hand, yellow sand erupted into the sky, hurtling towards the Vice Admiral.
The Vice Admiral snapped out of her reverie. Indeed, Momousagi's opponent was none other than Whitebeard—the man who could effortlessly overpower even the mightiest Admirals.
During the Summit War of Marineford, Whitebeard had shattered the attack of the world's strongest swordsman, 'Hawkeye' Dracule Mihawk, with a single punch.
While Momousagi was undoubtedly a formidable swordsman, facing Whitebeard's overwhelming strength, her blow was easily deflected.
As the yellow sand surged forward, the Vice Admirals hastily moved to intercept it, no longer content to wait and observe Whitebeard's actions.
Simultaneously, the shockwave from Whitebeard's punch barreled towards Momousagi with unyielding force, shaking the earth and reducing rocks to dust.
With her beautiful face contorted in concentration, Momousagi swiftly raised her longsword to block the powerful shockwave.
A resounding clash echoed as metal met metal. Momousagi's arm trembled from the impact, pushing her back several meters before she could regain her footing.
Experiencing the sheer strength of Whitebeard firsthand, Momousagi couldn't help but be awestruck. She had known of his formidable reputation but hadn't truly understood his power until now.
Despite her best efforts, her strongest slash was effortlessly repelled by Whitebeard's punch, leaving her reeling from the force.
"Don't let your guard down!" Chaton warned.
Momousagi nodded resolutely, suppressing the shock within her. With a fierce cry, she unleashed another powerful slash, surpassing even her previous effort in strength.
The ground trembled as her blade tore through all obstacles, hurtling towards Whitebeard with unstoppable force, leaving massive fissures in its wake.
"Let's attack him together!"
Akainu roared, thrusting his fist and molding molten lava into the shape of a dog's head.
"Go to hell, Whitebeard!"
"Inugami Guren!"
The molten lava surged forward with a roar, its scorching heat distorting the air around it. Chaton joined in, launching a barrage of powerful shots coated with armament haki. Kizaru leapt into action, reaching the top of Whitebeard.
He tightly squeezed both hands and vigorously waved them.
"Yasakani no Magatamaa!"
Shoo! Shoo! Shoo!
Countless spheres of light materialized, falling to the ground in an overwhelming display. Their combined attacks blocked all possible escape routes for Whitebeard.
"Very good!"
"Two Admirals and two candidate Admirals attacking simultaneously will surely defeat Whitebeard."
"That man, more terrifying than the devil, is finally meeting his end?"
"Marines will win! Kill Whitebeard!"
Spectators on Sabaody Archipelago erupted in cheers, believing that Whitebeard was on the brink of defeat.
"Guurarara~"
"You guys are so naive!"
Whitebeard laughed heartily. Surrounded from all sides, he remained unfazed.
No matter how many attacks came at him, he only needed to find one direction to neutralize them all. With those words, he raised his Naginata sharply.
Stabbed~
With a powerful swing, his arm clashed with Momousagi's slash, creating a massive explosion. Whitebeard seized the opportunity, rushing towards Momousagi, a ball of light forming on his fist.
"Uh-oh!"
Momousagi's face turned to horror as she realized the impending danger. Desperately trying to dodge, it was too late; the attack was too fast.
Boom!
The vibrational force exploded. Momousagi's sword trembled, attempting to withstand the impact. However, she couldn't endure and was sent flying.
Whitebeard effortlessly neutralized attacks from one side, then sharply turned around. The light bulb reappeared in his arm.
BOOM!
He punched the air with tremendous force. Cracks spread, blocking attacks from Akainu, Kizaru, and Chaton, while thick, dark smoke billowed.
Phoo~
The breeze blew, and the smoke dissipated. The island returned to calm. Momousagi, on the offensive side, half-kneeled on the ground, hands trembling, blood dripping from the corners of her mouth. Whitebeard, the target of the attack, remained unscathed.
Everyone stopped fighting, looking at Whitebeard in disbelief, unable to fathom how he accomplished such a feat.
