"Fast indeed!" Ace had already lowered his center of gravity, expecting her first move to be fierce. He sidestepped to avoid the frontal attack while twisting his waist to deliver a powerful sweeping kick.
He infused his Devil Fruit ability into his leg as he stretched it out. Flames roared around it, presenting a formidable sight.
Dressed in a kimono and wooden clogs unsuitable for combat, Vivi's claw strike missed its mark. She quickly kicked off the wooden clogs and stood with her bare feet, watching the direction of the incoming attack.
Her skills in close combat were relatively ordinary. The few techniques she knew were attributes she had picked up from Smoker and Binz. Vivi shook the flames from her fist as Ace took two steps back. He stood firmly in place after absorbing the impact.
This guy might not be Vivi's equal in strength, but his fighting skills were clearly superior.
"Wow, impressive! You actually know Armament Haki!" Ace seemed a bit frustrated. He was very fond of his Devil Fruit ability and often experimented with it for fun. He was burning things every day! Vivi let out a "Hmph" in response. Her figure was elusive as she quickly lunged at Ace. Her right hand was completely wrapped in Armament Haki, mimicking Zephyr's style of beating Binz. She delivered a powerful blow with tremendous force.
Ace performed a nimble backflip to dodge. He was suspended in the air. His left and right hands were crossed.
"Jujika! (Crossfire)"
The flames took the form of a cross, and whether in speed or attack range, it surpassed the Higan previously created specifically to "beat his little brother" in every way.
Jujika's cover was extensive, and the proximity between them meant that Vivi had no room to dodge and could only meet him head-on.
Her right hand pressed against the hilt of Nidai Kitetsu, taking up a stance that prepared her to unsheathe the sword.
"Zanpa!"
A massive blade aura, three meters high, soared perilously close to the ground.It shattered the cross-shaped flames in mid-air and headed straight for Ace.
Ace, lacking a weapon and not well versed in Armament Haki, was unwilling to directly confront the already half-depleted Zanpa. He dodged once more with a quick sideways flip.
Ace rose to his feet and found Vivi already wrapping Nidai Kitetsu in Armament Haki. She leaped high, her katana emitting an ominous black and red aura.
She brought her katana down on Ace's neck with a slashing technique from Marine Swordsmanship. In response, a flaming fist met her attack - Hiken!
At present, Ace was not at his strongest; there was still a hint of playfulness in his moves, and his experience in battle was not particularly extensive. However, relying on his powerful Devil Fruit ability, he managed to block Vivi's fierce attacks more than ten times.
