Chương 42: Chapter 42: Blue Ogre and Red Ogre

Pirates like Luffy could be considered adventurers, but the remaining 99% of pirates were scum. Bounty hunters had a slightly higher moral standard, but their strength was limited. Many of them became bounty hunters just because they feared being wanted by the Marines due to their insufficient abilities. Killing such individuals posed no psychological burden for Vivi.

The man who was cleaved in half didn't immediately breathe his last breath. His upper body crawled on the deck, wailing in pain, leaving behind a long trail of blood.

This scene stunned everyone. The concept of "Zanpa" was far beyond their reach. Some speculated that it was a kind of technological weapon and continuously stole glances at Vivi's sleeve. Others believed she wasn't purely human and had a mixed-race heritage, while some thought it was black magic and doubted their eyesight. Of course, some recognized it as a slash wave. In short, the bounty hunters had various thoughts on the matter.

"The scouting of Little Garden Island is a task assigned by Baroque Works, and I'm emphasizing it one last time." When she noticed the bounty hunters trembling like quails, she sheathed her sword. "Calm down! Stop making a racket!"

If Vivi feared anything in Little Garden, it wasn't Blue Ogre or Red Ogre, but the massive goldfish that had been lurking around the island. It had a reputation for devouring islands! When confronted with such a massive foe, her swordsmanship and Haki would have little room to maneuver. No one would be able to save her if she was swallowed by the giant goldfish.

Therefore, upon catching a glimpse of the island's outline, she used her ability "Voice of All Things" to eavesdrop on the "conversations" of the nearby fishes.

After listening for over ten minutes, she didn't hear any news about big fish lurking near the island. Then, with a wave of her hand, she decided to land on the island!

The island of Little Garden was much larger in size than depicted in the manga. The reason the colossal dinosaur-like beasts on the island hadn't starved or gone extinct was due to the intact food chain and the abundance of creatures of all sizes.

To find the two giants in the dense jungle without flying ability required a fair amount of luck. However, Vivi didn't need luck or flight; she had her ducky who could sense the direction of battles.

Karoo's ability to sense attributes had no response to animal fights; it specifically targeted humanoid intelligent life.

The two giants had been fighting on the island for a hundred years, engaging in over 70,000 battles in total. On average, they fought twice a day. It wasn't difficult to determine the giants' locations by observing the direction the duck ran while sensing attributes.

When the sound of metal collisions came from a distant part of the island, Vivi immediately gave Karoo a simple "five seconds commission" and then determined the direction pointing east.

"Good, it's in this direction. Follow me, everyone!"

Three days later...

"Quack! Cluck cluck quack!" Karoo was very annoyed. It pulled out a frying pan and tried to hit Vivi on the head, but she quickly dodged out of the way.

The duck chased after her for over two hundred meters before finally stopping in its tracks.

The look in the duck's eyes was filled with resentment, 'It's all your fault! You have a terrible sense of direction, yet you insist on leading the way! If it weren't for you, we would have found our target long ago! Now we're just wandering around in the jungle like this?'

"Woof woof!" Chouchou, as Karoo's little brother, also barked twice in agreement. Even it could tell that its master's master was running around aimlessly.

Vivi tried to defend herself, claiming that the terrain was too complicated, and the general direction she led them in was correct. They'd only taken a slightly longer detour at most.

The group of bounty hunters behind them quickly sat down to rest. Vivi had her hands free, but they didn't. They were the ones carrying the fine wine prepared for Dorry and Brogy. Anyone who dared not carry it would be cut down on the spot! With the threat of force, the bounty hunters reluctantly carried the goods on their backs, trudging through the jungle for three days, nearly exhausted.

Physical exhaustion was one thing, but the real issue was the abundance of fierce beasts in this place. While walking, they would step on a poisonous snake, and while wiping sweat from their brows, a foraging giant bird would suddenly swoop down. In just three days, twelve bounty hunters had lost their lives, most of whom were the reinforcements sent by the headquarters.

The remaining few were mostly Vivi's old subordinates from Whisky Peak. When they encountered danger, she would provide rescue, but even with her help, the dangers of the dense jungle of Little Garden remained. In the end, the death toll reached fifteen.

The journey had been quite tumultuous, but after a grueling five days of trekking, Vivi finally stood on higher ground in the northern region of the island and found the battling giant warriors.

Both giants stood at a towering height of twenty meters. Dorry, the Blue Ogre, was relatively lean with a beard that extended down to his lower abdomen. He wielded a long sword in his right hand and held a round shield in his left.

Brogy, the Red Ogre, had a massive and muscular body. He carried a large axe in his right hand and also held a round shield in his left.

The two giants roared in fury as they clashed, slashing and hacking with their weapons. Each strike generated a powerful wind surge. Trees taller than one meter were no longer visible within their battle range.

"What is that sound?"

"Is it some kind of ferocious beast?"

The bounty hunters exchanged glances, and fear and concern were evident in their eyes.

Vivi had not mentioned the giants the whole time. Her explanation was in line with the prevailing theme of the era: she was on a scouting mission for the Baroque Works on the surface, but her true motive was to search for treasure. The fine wines were meant to intoxicate the fierce beasts guarding the treasure.

Initially, the bounty hunters found her explanation reasonable. The primitive and untouched nature of this island resembled the typical hiding place for treasure in their minds. However, now they faintly heard the clash of metal and the shouts of giants. What was going on?

Vivi jumped down from her elevated position and gave a signal to Karoo with her eyes.

Karoo's duck feet spun like windmills as it ran off into the distance with Chouchou in tow.

In the next moment, Vivi unleashed her Conqueror's Haki towards the bounty hunters!

Without uttering a sound, all fifteen of them collapsed like harvested wheat, falling to the ground in unison.

Despite Vivi's attempts to control the range of her Conqueror's Haki, numerous large and small wild beasts in the vicinity were still stunned. Even the battling giants, Dorry and Brogy, automatically halted their fight and looked at her with a hint of surprise.

"You're quite an audacious young human girl! Judging by your appearance, you're not just passing by, are you? You've come specifically to find us?" With his long beard, Dorry, exuding a certain elegance reminiscent of a gentleman, spoke.

Vivi took a step forward and walked towards the giants, stopping ten meters away from them. She then looked up at the two towering figures.

She may not possess Luffy's charisma, but she did have her own trump card to gain their trust.

"Thin face, long beard, you must be Dorry, the Blue Ogre?"

"Yes."

"Round face, robust figure, you are Brogy, the Red Ogre?"

"That's me!"
