Still in the hotel bedroom, Sandra Smith sat on the bed, hugging her blanket, her face wearing an expression of distress. Her listless appearance surprised Charles Glenn.
"What time is it?" Sandra seemed to remember something, her face showing a hint of panic.
"Very early, 4:25 in the morning."
Sandra:...Indeed very early.
"Could you pour me a glass of water?" She wiped her face, looking at Charles with eyes filled with a touch of pleading.
Charles, as a person, wasn't exactly a gentleman, but he wasn't a roughneck either.
He got up to pour Sandra a glass of water, even going as far as to bring her a mirror, seriously warning her, "Drink the water first before looking into the mirror, or else I fear you won't be able to swallow."
Sandra was skeptical of this.
The first thing she did upon getting the mirror was to look at her face.
Sure enough — time stood still.
